POLL: Continue or scrap the Crestwin Bomber stadium project?

Here's the thing: this is a "publicly owned" team right? Then how do they get away without full and complete disclosure?

Here's something else to consider. Two Bomber board members will be resigning. Arguably to make room for one new board member from each of the city and the province. Seems reasonable right?

Until you consider what those board members will be doing. They will be part of the construction team building the new stadium. At least that is what has been reported.

We must change the way that board is selected and who it is accountable to.

I listened to Watchorn on CJOB last night, it was dissapointing that anytime a question was asked about financing Lawless would cut in and answer for them.
I am in favor of the new stadium, however this process has been a joke. Seems like everytime something of this magnitude is built (Hydro Building, Provencher Bridge, Airport, HRM ) everything is low balled to the public just to get it started.

Preseently, it is not accountable to anyone.

Nobody can even say how they elect their members for chrissake!

A complete restructuring of this organization desperately needs to be done.

As far as I'm concerned, this fiasco has shown just how fu ucked up organization is.

Didn't he get kicked off the board, before he wanted to own the entire team....and now that fell through (with exception of getting a x-mas gift from taxpayers and, probably will find a way to secure exclusive rights to the old Bumbler stadium land) is being asked to join the Bumbler board?

Amazing how this has all taken place, and no one (other than regular citizens, and maybe CTF and Russ Wyatt on council) is saying boo about it.

Fer Christ sakes, there was more bitching and complaining about the "Save the Jets" campaign than there is for this clusterf*ck. At least with the Jets, buying them a new arena we'd get atleast 40-some odd home games a year!

I guess the real question that needs to be asked is...-since these a$$-clowns purposely delayed releasing the stadium figures until after the election, then stalled until a few days before council took it's x-mas recess and then rammed through approval with little to no public information, and hoping that the x-mas break will help with some collective amnesia...that was all done by design- will it work? Will we all forget, or maybe feel a little too jaded to give a s*it after?

There has to be some way to sue to force this into the open.

Last night, a called on Geoff Currier's show on CJOB asked if the Bombers should release their business plan. Currier danced and dipped like never before to deflect the question.

If the team has "community ownership," why not release the business plan?

If they won't, then that may tell you to what extent we should have confidence in this board.

Hey it worked to secure True Norths loan payments for the MTS Centre ( on 50 Million dollar loan )....why not have more tax dollars keep rolling.

People move out of the City for a reason. We have lost million and millions because people get fed up with the abuse. I for one think if the City is really interested in finding an industry to attract , i would suggest they try and win back all those have fled.
