VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, May 03, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Seacliff Construction Corp. /quotes/comstock/11t!e:sdc (CA:SDC 13.65, +0.04, +0.29%) ("Seacliff" or "the Corporation"), one of the largest and most diversified construction companies in Western Canada, today announced that Dominion Construction, its construction contracting division, has been awarded the $135 million construction management contract for a new state-of-the-art stadium and training centre at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg.
The stadium, which will be the new home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football Club and the University of Manitoba athletic program, will feature an innovative sunken playing field 25' (7.62 m) below grade. The completely enclosed bowl will provide overhead weather protection for 80% of fans, seating for 33,000, enhanced concessions, private suites, event facilities, a permanent Blue Bomber Hall of Fame and an inflatable bubble for use during the winter months. The facility will be delivered in a fast-track environment with construction scheduled to begin in June 2010.
"We are pleased to announce the selection of Dominion as construction manager for this marquee project," said Bill Crarer, Seacliff's CEO. "We are also optimistic that this is just the first of several Manitoba construction projects we will be announcing during 2010. The outlook for the province is very positive and Seacliff is well positioned to capitalize on the strong market conditions, with a solid list of potential projects in front of us."

no excuse for letting stuff like routine maintenance slip in such a building.
