From what I've seen on the news, nobody was in agreement with their actions...this may indeed, come back and bite them in the ass.

Of course they do JTF...it's the liberal mentality of what's mine is mine and what's yours is also mine.

Indeed, it is becoming clear that they have trouble understanding that it's the peoples' money and not all theirs.

Yes but is it becoming clear to the liberal/NDP supporters?

Nobody said no to the cheques when they came did they, if you want to be sitting pretty then give it all back Harper and maybe I will believe you are geniune in your motive .
Otherwise it is revenge nothing more nothing less . I agree it is not right to be taking my money for my vote. But they did take it , all of them . Actions speak louder then words.

Based upon Jean Chretian's "A Proof is a Proof."

It's not revenge...it's called tightening the purse strings during uncertain economic times.

Whatever if you want to believe that I don't . Stephen is so transparent in is motives and his reasons . If he really believed in what he is doing he would call the bluff of the opposition .
He just like them all is is party driven . not voter driven . Other wise the practice would not have started .

Whatever the motive Pavolo nuking that policy is so very much the right thing to do. And I would like Harper to call the bluff of those SOBs. But maybe now is not the right time. Ever hear the expression "pick your fights"???

Wonder what he would do if he wasn't flush with oil money after all he got alot of it last election. This was not the case a few years ago when the party were more then happy to have the money .

Yeah. Wonder how they might have responded in 1912. Or 1945. Or 1976. Or 1990. Or 2001.

The economic situation wasn't as bleak as it is today...
I do think his choice to give in, isn't good for someone who wants to lead a country. I don't think the GG would have axed the Conservative govt. right now. Maybe would have waited til the end of January, but for now, would have given Harper some time to show his cards.

I doubt the opposition could and would have nailed it together long enough to force it .

I totally agree with that.

From what I've read in and around the web, I feel alot of the attacks are coming from Green Party followers, in a hidden mode, they are adding fuel to the fire. This isn't good for Canada.
We gotta get our elected government together, and that's that.

From the bizarro file, did the Conservatives illegally tape a conversation between the Bloc and the NDP?

Are the Bloc and the NDP conspiring to defeat the government? Does this make anyone happy with Canada's parliamentary system?

How do ordinary Canadians tell the lunatic bozos that run the Bloc and the NDP that their actions are insane? Is Canada now reliant on the Liberals to prevent the defeat of the government that was just elected?

Obscene.

its the end result of almost ever minority government in existance. I would rather the Conservatives made these guys pull an election trigger because they dont want to get screwed, then the bozos pull the election trigger because the conservatives seem like wimps/.. too late now I guess.

Now, with this leaked phone call suggesting this was in the works for months, things have changed. Iggy and Rae are not too pleased with Dion for attempting to keep control and I can't say anyone can lame them.

This story has more legs than a centipede...it changes daily.

they can only lame themselves (and did so by having Dion as a leader)
hehe

Has anyone seen any TV or paper or radio report that has someone stating that regardless of the tri-fecta of gimmeegimmee joing up and saying they want to govern, the GG does not have to support them?
How is this not a major news item?

I'm by no means an expert, but I understand she has the final decision. Jean has said in the past that people are the deciders. She can call an election if she thinks that the coalition won't last.

My take is Harper will prorogue and bring them back in January for the budget. That way he can fight an election on the budget and the coalition.
