That really is a word that economists use to describe a particular kind / type of recession.

A technical recession occurs when the level of real national output declines over two successive quarters causing a contraction in the total volume of production in the economy.

Call it what you want, we all kind of understand what it is. What next Pav, you going to blame the whole thing on Harper?

Okay, if it actually happened on Harper's watch it must be his fault right? That seems to be the logic in play... Pfffffttt. He is paying for the actions of others. Timing is everything.

That said Bush had much to do with what is happening in his country, and the ripples that has created world-wide. That comes from being a complete idiot over a period of 8 years.

Surprisingly Bush had less to do with the economic problems in the US then most (media) would have us believe. Feel free to blame Carter and Clinton for the mortgage crisis. And I see Obama's advisers are all from the Clinton era....hold on it's going to be a bumpy ride!!!!! Obama supposedly has a plan yet he hasn't felt the need to share what that plan is.

7.7 trillion spent in the USA on the current economic crisis. HOLY FREAKIN SMOKE.... 7.7 trillion.
Can it get worse then that?
Back to us though.
Bullies are only bullies if their targets allow them to be. Is Harper a bully? Or are the other kids too wishywashy to stand up against him? They have a choice to make. Allow the legislation to pass, thus endorsing it. OR Stand up for once and scream at the top of their lungs "WE DEMAND THAT YOU ALLOW US TO KEEP SCREWING THE TAXPAYERS!!!"

I'm getting a little tired of the crybabies in Parliament calling Harper a bully and crap like that. These dweebs were elected becuase they're supposed to be leaders and the best they can come up with is name calling. Maybe Pat Martin can tell us why this is such a bad thing, or maybe he'll just threaten to kick my ass, seems to be about the only thing he can do is threaten. (Doesn't that make him a bully?)

LOL...
NDP and LIBERAL considering coalition to take down the conservatives,
http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/2008/11/28/7565906-cp.html

I think perhaps one thing that they are forgetting is that the governor General must declare the governing party and she already has. So unless something extremely major happens like th NDP and LIBERALS fold form a new party and then several Bloc people "cross the floor" Its just not going to happen.

heh... they are already fighting over who would be leader of the "new coaltion party"...
"
The Liberals are taking the prospect of a coalition so seriously that some MPs are privately discussing ways to dump Stephane Dion as leader without waiting for their party's scheduled May 2 leadership vote.
But party insiders say that with Dion as a lame duck, supporters of leadership front-runners Michael Ignatieff and Bob Rae say the question of who would be prime minister in a coalition has become the hot issue.
It could be a deal-breaker, some said. "

Let Jack Layton lead the coalition!

143 conservative
77 liberals
49 Bloc
37 NDP
2 independant.
And for the record the 2 independant are pretty much conservatives.
It would take all 77 liberals, all 37 NDP and 37 bloc just to tie votes the conservatives have,
The govenor general would easily recognize that such a move would in fact not be a good one and there is no way she would make them the governing party. parliment would be dissolved and an election forced before that happens.
They want another election, then force it.

So, the mainstream parties have to get in bed with the Bloc. Just hilarious. And why, because Harper plans to take public money away from the snivelling wimps. What a bunch of knobs.

I was not really much for another election so soon, but now that I hear them suggesting this crap.. I really am for this. I want an election triggered by their whining about needing free money.

LOL imagine the skyrocketing costs if governments had to negotiate market level wages with each of their employees! Taxes would have to at least triple for that.

Yes Imagine that.

Don't like your wage.. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands of Canadians who would jump at the chance to make what these government employee's make. and they would be happy. Rolling back wages and benefits inline with the average wage of Canadians would save us millions and millions.

I love Harper , the 3rd best Conservative P.M., ever! he is such a sh1t disturber!
pretty funny , cutting off the BQ and the Green party from getting funding, and in the name of saving Canada!

Don't you love him!

And if the Conservative's are defeated and the BQ, NDP, and Liberals take power, WOW, that will keep it interesting!

The Liberals and BQ are really very close in their platforms ! lol

all I can say is... frick YOU LIBERALS AND THE REST...
Stephen Dion to be out leader? frick YOU
introduce the motion.. sure.. bring it on.. but Miss GG if you dont trigger an election and instead you allow these loosers to form a government, then your time and position in this country are the next thing to go.
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/Liberals_plan_confidence_motion.html

OTTAWA -- The Liberal Opposition plans to introduce a motion in the House of Commons on Monday declaring non-confidence in the minority Conservative government and proposing a governing coalition.

The motion comes as emissaries from the Liberals, New Democrats and Bloc Quebecois hold talks about forming a new government should Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s minority fall.

But Harper could still avert the immediate defeat of his weeks-old government through procedural tactics.

The Liberal motion, which has the approval of the NDP and Bloc Quebecois, reads:

“In light of the government’s failure to recognize the seriousness of Canada’s economic situation and its failure in particular to present any credible plan to stimulate the Canadian economy and to help workers and businesses in hard-pressed sectors such as manufacturing, the automotive industry and forestry, this House has lost confidence in this government and is of the opinion that a viable alternative government can be formed within the present House of Commons.”

A source says the opposition parties have agreed that Liberal Leader Stephane Dion would lead the government for the next few months.

talk about completely eroding the credibility that Jack Layton and Gilles will have completely lost any credibility that they had..
WHOM did they attack more during the last election? Harper? Or Dion? that right .. DION was thier prime target. And now they think he is good enough to lead the country.
Screw this crap.. anyone on here feel like donating to the cause to front my run against Judy?

As far as Im concerned. The Block is an illegal party. Any party who's #1 purpose is to separate from Canada is in breach of Canada's treason laws, and should be stopped immediately. It will be nice to see them lose their funding. That was one of the main reasons they still have so many seats. The liberals knew that would hold back the conservatives in Quebec.

No not at all just when we are going to have a recession call it what it is not gloss it over for the benefit of your goverment and the bs you sold last election . The word was not uttered by any of his fools then, course they are not allowed to speak freely. Even though the world was going down the tube he would not admit it that we could .
Stephen Dion or the fools around him who are hiding behind him now want to topple the goverment cause they have had their allowance cut off . Never mind the fact that the public will hang them , but we don't matter cept for our votes .

I have a hard time believing any of them so I blame no one more then the other. The whole show is a joke .

"World going down the tube". Better put away all the sharp objects. Indicators are that Canada will be less impacted by the Technical Recession that other countries. Thank God we had a conservative government.

We may have to consider moving Harper up on Rosie's scale of best Prime Ministers.

Watch what happens now with gas back to normal and not so much money coming in . he won't look so smart or be so witty. His share of the tax money has gone south . Any goverment would look good with that revenue coming in . See what the boy doe's now with the huge drop in Revenues .
