For the 1st time in a long time, ever, Canadian politics is interesting!

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of the country being run by a group that had 64% of the vote!

The one thing that could be improved, would be for the coalition of losers to include some Conservatives, so everyone has some input!
Seems to me in 1966 or thereabouts the Liberals and the NDP ruled and as a result Canada got its Health Care Act!

Duceppe is consistent. Layton and Dion are showing their true colours. Indeed do remember those names.

I am surprised to hear that from you...I was under the impression you didn't like Harper???

Write the Governor General and tell her not to give in to the whim of the buffoons. I also wrote my MP telling him I will do everything in my power to see the NDP never get into Transcona Again .

I don't trust him , but what the NDP and LIBS Are doing is wrong and is dangerous to this country . Hey you have to put the greater good first.

IMHO. I hope the liberals never recover from their jumping into bed with the Bloc.

Harper should stand firm and take away public funding for political party's. Dion just cant stand to be one of the very very few liberal leaders to not have been elected PM. Layton sure showed where his priorities are, and its not with the Canadian public. Entitlements before Canadian Public. Quebec and Toronto before the Rest of Canada. These 3 amigos are political vermin.

Then Call an election. I would rather lose an election to the liberals with Ignaffi as leader, than to have Dion as a leader with Layton holding the purse strings and Duceppe using his new found political leverage for their own gain.

LOL... one of them is not honorable.

wolfboy

something every single one of you ignores, probably because you have to
in order to continue to feel good about being Conservative, is that...

Stephen Harper tried to do this exact same thing in 2004

i.e. form a colition with the Bloc.

and failed.

So... when Layton and Dion do it, they're "traitors", but when Harper does it he's... uh.... um... Honorable?

It's called "cognitive dissonance", folks. Learn it. Because it's you.

Yep. Just dropping in to remind myself of why I don't waste my time on here (with apologies to GOM).

wolfboy

wolfboy

I repeat: cognitive dissonance. Look it up.

I.e. all of your collective Conservative cheerleading ability to forget that, in 2004, Stephen Harper jumped into bed with the Bloc in order to try to unseat Paul Martin's minority gov't.

Yep. And signed the exact same doc that Dion and Layton signed this week.

Facts, people. Facts. Learn 'em.

But then... why have facts when you can just have ill-informed rants? They're so much more satisfying.

Yes what is fair is fair but I disagreed with it then and I do now also. This is the wrong way to gain power and could be worse for the country , look at the market wolfboy. Suggest you go back where ever and look at your history a little closer .

This is just a power grab by some tired little boys in the sandbox . If Jack wants power so bad he should earn it and Stephan has dick to lose cept his reputation . Who ever takes over will be left to clean up the mess , Duccepp should not even be there and the means for him to be should be erased .
He is the worst part of our political arena and the most divisive . The Quebec thing has to be answered clearly and settled once and for all .

Part of me is laughing at Harper he tried to be clever and it has backfired in his face . He thought he had a majority and underestimated his opponent . He is such a klutz really why would you worry about a few million in spending when most in the world are looking for ways to spend . Once a conservative always a conservative worry about the bank first .
There is something I just don't trust about this man, the political money thing could have waited . He was steered down the path and was not smart enough to see it . To bad he is like all the rest EGO first brain second .

Yes while you are right wolfboy but the Martin goverment had lost the peoples support this goverment has not yet and that has to be respected . It is the basis of our Democracy suggest you take the time to learn all from the news.

Not ignored; ignorance... I was not aware that Harper colluded with the Bloc in an attempt to wrest control from the government of the day. Can you provide more details?

No Tory alliance with Bloc Quebecois: Harper

I looked for more news stories on the subject but was not successful. Lot's of references in current news pieces, but little that suggests that Harper was forming a coalition government with the Bloc that would take control of Canada over a Liberal minority government.

I was not offended the first time you said it but I am a little the second time. I don't see the reason to slag people simply because of their political beliefs in a mainstream party??? You also keep citing facts. Why not show some then. I may not be the sharpest pencil in the box but I genuinely do not recall a Harper led coalition whose sole ambition was to overthrow the government in an effort to take control.

Is your view that a Harper led coalition that had ambition to defeat the government in order to force an election the same as the current coalition?

Maybe the two are worlds apart eh?

I'm no handwriting expert, but I see that Layton is schizophrenic, Dion is confused about his real name and Duceppe doesn't know how to spell.

I'm still new to the whole Canadian Politics thing...but my understanding in 2004 was that nobody trusted the Liberals anymore. That there was some kind of scandal going on of fraud and embezzlement which caused the other parties to try and oust them. I vaguely remember talks of parties getting together to do that...but more because one party could not do it on their own, and it was a basis of most everybody not trusting the Liberals...not just a party disagreement.

With me, its not a matter of "cogntive dissonance", but more a result of heavy drinking, which I will probably be doing more of these days in order to cope with the idea of the three stooges running the country.

Still waiting for some facts regarding the alleged Conservative/Bloc coalition....still waiting.

The GG will have to decide within the next few days to whether or not call an election or turnover power to Dion and the two other stooges.

Please e-mail her and tell her we want an election. Please.
