Went to training camp today. The QB Hackney is overweight but still looks great. Awesome arm strength and great accuracy. I've never seen so many people at training camp there was at least 500 people in the stands!

The Bombers looked strong in the first half of the game yesterday building a 26-0 lead by half time. Winnipeg won 32-22. The game was mostly entertaining for the first preseason game of the year.
They announced a crowd of about 27k~ but it looked a bit shy of that number.
All in all I'd give the Bombers a B+.

Generally speaking it was not that bad a game under very trying conditions. Stifling defence on both sides of the ball. LeFors and the Bomber offence showed some flashes of competency. The running game (including LeFors scrambling efforts) looked good.
The Bombers have a way's to go. The Calgary game will be much more telling.

What utter garbage. The man wrote as though the world was ending because of ONE FOOTBALL GAME.
What we all need to remember is this team has played but one game. The first game of the season. On the road. In a monsoon. Two players short of a full roster. With a roster that is two-thirds new. With new coaches. With a new system.
And lost by TWO points.

Grumpy, do you ever read Paul Friesens articles? They are just as bad if not worse than Sinclairs. Frriesen is the same writer that did nothing but bash the Moose during there Calder cup run. The Bombers could win 6 Grey cups in a row and Friesein wouldn't write anything positive.

That said I think Kelly will turn out to be a complete and total JERK. He had already made that impression on me when he first opened his mouth after arriving. Nothing he has done has lessened my impression. But I guess if he wins...

The Bombers cutting Armstrong was a foregone conclusion the moment he refused to play in the game.
There is no likelihood the Bombers would have been able to get anything of real value in a trade. Be interesting to see if another CFL teal picks him up.
