What a stupid game eh? Let's pick a number out of our ass and post it here like it has any validity at all. Pointless debate IMO...

Sounds like Gailey Asker and the Museum of Doom Deal.

Since Dean is correct in that the real market value is only determined after a sale, and if there is only one buyer into the deal making an offer, is the selling price the real market value then?

Those should be two very easy dots to connect.

The game I refer to is the arbitrary $1 million discount you gave it...

I actually said a million or so. ie... some sort of big amount

I can see other companies bidding against him on it.
Some for legitimate business value, some for spite.

I guess we will know come september what he got it for.

I don't think anyone else can 'bid' against him. That's the problem....some person will set the price.

I am not even certain that the deal will go through. Its all contingent on him actually finding major tenants for this new building.
Considering that the economy is "depressed" and that the new IKEA location will have the opportunity for a number of stores to be able to draw on an INSANE amount of walk up customers. I find it difficult to believe there are many retail businesses out there that would be willing to make a commitment to the Stadium location for a new store. And this whole deal rests on him finding tenants, by September, since construction is set to start in September.

You're right.

Since this started there have been a number of things that have changed the dinamics of the deal.

I don't get the local fish wrap delivery, usually just the online edition whenever there is anything interesting going on, so I haven't seen or heard much about this deal since it was announced that instead of Point Douglas, it would be located at the UofM....

And I'm guessing, now that the season has started, the Bumblers would want more of the focus (or maybe not anymore!) to be on the team, and not the side show that's become the new stadium "project" for lack of a better word.

There was the one clip during one of the meetings about CanWest tanking that David was asked if CanWest tanking impacts the stadium deal and he said, two totally different companies and something about, we are on track and negotiations are going well for major tenants.

That was 3ish months ago or more.

The latest I heard yesterday about Michael Bishop signing with the Bumblers was that finally Saskatchewan had a QB that could pass to their recievers! All they had to do was trade him to the oposition in order to get him to do it!

lol

Bombers win. Bombers win. Bombers win.

Yawn. I guess a win is a win. Give Bishop more time and he will be much better and more effective. He must have been absolutely exhausted, and a little sore, in the second half.

Bomber D bent but did not break. Forced seven turnovers - very impressive. Bomber punter had a fine game. Fine game indeed. And Serna kicked a doozy to win the game.

Next week against Calgary will be quite revealing. That said it will still only be Bishop's second week of practise.

I watched the game today from under my covers , freezing in bed, and didn't see a single point scored. I missed the 1st quarter, and fell asleep during half time and woke up after the game ended!
Did I miss any thing?

Didn't see too many points scored today either...

Maybe it wasn't the QB after all. Maybe the offensive schemes are so bad that we could have Warren Moon as QB and we'd still only have 50 yards offense.

It looks like the Las Vegas odds makers knew what they were talking about. If not for the D the score would be obscene at the half instead of just embarrassing. And before some blame the D do understand they were on the field a ridiculous amount of time.

I guess we are in for another week of Kelly crappola.

The Bombers made some adjustments at half time and came out and made a game of it. Ended up losing by 8, not good but it was looking a lot worse in the first half.

That was two completely different games. How does one explain THAT game? Holy moly...

Good second half. Very entertaining. And, promising...

Now if the Bombers can play their A game for 60 minutes maybe, just maybe, we might win another game this year.

If they can play the A game for a full 60 minutes, they can win many games.

The Blue Bombers are in for a helluva game tonight. Montreal has so far shown CFL fans that they are the class of the league. Calvillo is a magician with his 76.6% completion rate. Simply amazing. Their defence is not bad either.

So how will the Bombers win? To begin with, an already proven very good defence will have to raise their game a notch. If they allow Montreal to pick them apart it will be a very very long night.

The Winnipeg offence has to keep the ball very early in the game. If Bishop can do two things early the Bombers stand a chance of winning this game: 1) They will have to establish the pass early (yes, the pass!) and 2) get out of the pocket, roll out. But only to open up holes for the rush by spreading the D-line. If they can do this, and keep possession for a few plays early, then Reid and the Bomber rushing game can carry them.

And it will be a very entertaining game.

Do it not and I might change the channel at half time.

Prediction: Winnipeg 28 - Montreal 26

It's on TSN so you should get it everywhere in Canada. It is also on TSN-HD which means we should get it in Winnipeg if we have High Definition. Which I do. So I'll be watching it from the comfort of my living room...
