No it's just that that deadly virus is headed towards Ottawa, so he thinks it's safer in Winnipeg.

Can someone tell me again why a green shift is good for Canada? Can someone also explain to me why we need a carbon cap and trade system? Last but not least, Can someone please explain to me how taxing companies who emit carbon is a good thing for my Family and I ?

I don't want to hear a typical Dion response "it works, you will see". I don't want to hear the bullshit. I want straight facts. I don't want to hear how wonderful it works in Europe, Because when you speak to people in Europe who now pay more for everything and still emit the same amount of carbon, you get the truth, It is a TAX GRAB.

I know the young socialists and other young people who think they know it all, we have to reduce carbon emissions. They are young and want to change the world, most of us were like that when we were young. Then we grow up and see the big picture, True change means all the worlds polluters must reduce emissions and they must do it now. Everyone talks about it, but nobody is really willing to do it, we all want cut back a bit but not to the point where it interferes with our lifestyle. This is why India and China will not cut back because they want to get to a point where they have the same lifestyle we have. I feel it is already too late to save ourselves, so enjoy what you have. and remember "Only Sheep need a leader"

In Europe we pay a carbon tax on everything that uses energy. I can understand taxing normal light bulbs, but fluorescent lights? As you said before, it's all in the extra loot. A few years ago, the European community passed a law to ban wood burning for energy. In Italy, the pizza places caused a fuss saying that wood ovens are the best for pizzas. NOW, there's more and more wood stoves around, burning all types of wood and wood pellets.
Last year, there were incentives for installing air-conditioners... Come on! It's not for conservation or for saving the planet! It's for emptying our wallets and filling theirs...

I wonder if there is any correlation between countries getting behind carbon credits/trading and the current economic meltdown?

What you looking for? They merged with the most of the progressive conservatives to become conservative part of Canada.

(some PCs said no and went on to form the Progressive Canadian Party).

Nope. Klein. Didn't you listen to the CBC podcast "The House" hosted by Ralph Klein? Nice show, it seemed like I was in their backyard around a patio table listening to them waiting for the barbeque to spill out it's goodies...
Yup. We Canadians are.... Canadians!

Trust Stephen Harper to jump on the speaking gaffe of Dion's last night the man is getting very desperate and scared if this is a issue to him . Surly he could find an issue he can talk about, o right he hasn't any answers for the economy. Just stay the course .

Jim...Dion is a goof....he shouldn't be PM because he cannot understand simple English.

He answered the question then realized it was a very weak answer and asked for a re-do....a couple of times...but his answer didn't get any better.

I mean, c'mon, if you were PM what would you do? That's a hard question? Gimme a break.

Yes that's right but it is not worth the press the conservatives are forcing it to get come on every one has bad moments. It is not an election issue weak on Harper's part .

Ya right...like Dion wouldn't jump on a Harper dumb-speak.

Jim...all is fair in politics...if the kitchen is too hot, he should leave it to the pros then....Wink
