On Saturday I ran into Safeway to grab a few things, after I paid I opened up the lucky break ticket and I won a Sanyo HD Camcorder! Needless to say, I was in shock as I never win anything. This morning my phone rings before 7:00 am and it is a local radio station informing me that my neighbour (who I nominated as a Great Canadian Neighbour) won the Grand Prize. I am thinking I should buy a lottery ticket for this Wednesdays draw.

So do you believe things happen in three's???

No I didn't. I bought tickets to the last 2 and we did win a set of cordless phones last year but the last one we didn't win anything. Did you buy tickets?

no...finances too tight this year with the remodeling going on.

maybe next year if things work out.

so when SHE wins the house and kicks Dean out...it's in writing (from him) that it's HER house...and he can go live on the street

yeah but our current house is worth 100K more then I owe on my mortgage. So we would sell.. I would get half.. she gets the new house AND the kids... and I have a cool 50K of drinking money.

heh.. when we purchased the ticket.. they mixed up and sent it to me, in my name instead of her name since it was a gift. I called and they sent a new ticket within 2 days with her name on it

Congrats on the streak Goth. Just listened to the vault. I sometimes don't open or even take those Safeway breakopens because the first 50 were the expected nothing. Actually I was there today and opened it and .....nothing. But there is something funny about 3's. It's always the old wise folk who give the reminders and that's the kind of experience I respect. It goes the same for bad things too though - have you noticed? Back in the spring of 1983 I got hit by a car (bad accident) and an older friend told me to be careful the rest of the year. I thought that was pretty kookie at the time. Then in the summer when I was still healing, I fell into a hole and almost cut my leg off. Then he and now another guy were telling me to watch for #3 and I thought that was an impossibility of course. But in November I was a passenger in a head-on crash on the highway inslippery ice conditions and woke up in the hospital not knowing where I was. Who was standing there beside my bed but one of these guys. I asked him if it was now over and he nodded. Weird but true. Your streak should finish but keep the doors open - buy the usual lotto's and anything else that gives. Good luck.

last year I won 10 air miles in the breakopen at safeway.

nothing this year though.
