We are having Spring right now...mild temps, no snow and rain. Sounds like spring to me. Irises are starting to grow and the rest of my spring flowers are starting. I don't know what you're smoking but I don't want any. LOL

Well, if we are going to use Wiki as a "credible" source..........................
I know that I have read elsewhere to disprove this wiki source. If I can find it, I'll post it.

Anyways, let's keep this thread on topic.

I guess I consider spring to start when it's actually safe to put anything in the ground that won't die, and also when there is no further chance of snow. Around here that's May long weekend, which usually blends right into summer. Hence the "no spring" comment I was kidding about. Same with fall, we go pretty much straight from summer temps up till Labour Day most years right into snow by Halloween usually. So spring and fall to me both last about 1 month each most years, rather than a milder climate where you generally have 4 clear cut seasons each lasting roughly 3 months each.....for example S. Ontario.

Back on track, I'm not a huge hockey fan but I'd love to see this entire saga come to a conclusion and for the Jets to come home. I'm all for more entertainment options in the dead of winter regardless of cost. Hopefully they'll offer some 10 game packs in addition to the season tickets, $8-10,000 for a pair of decent season tickets is still out of my price range but I wouldn't mind dropping $2-3,000 a year for a pair of 10 game packs especially if I can get them at work on payroll deduction like we have for the Bombers.

Same climate as Siberia maybe....Western Russia is considerably milder than Winnipeg, even Moscow is usally much milder than our winters....wont even bother mentioning places like Sochi which has Palm trees and more of a mediteranean climate. Winnipeg is the coldest major city with a population over 500,000 on the entire planet.
WTF? Who gives a sh!t? This is a thread about hockey. One flip comment about climate does not invite a GD discourse on the climate of the country of Russia.

Stick to the thread.

Just trying to give some background on why a "Russian moron" may not be crazy about moving to our climate, just cause he's from Russia doesn't mean he consider's -30 to be normal winter temps. If he's from the Black Sea he'd be more used to temps above zero all winter long. Just giving some perspective, sorry to piss you off for pointing out that it is certainly not the same climate.

Personally I don't blame peeps from warmer climates who have the financial ability and option to avoid coming to Winnipeg for wanting to do so based soley on our climate if that is a factor for them. I wouldn't want to come here either if I was a multi-millionaire living in sunny AZ.

smart companies would indeed give their employees the payroll deduction option.

Why are they called Phoenix Coyotes in the first place???
Maybe Glendale Chihuahuas would fit in better.

Electrician you missed the letter from a Phoenix fan who was asking Winnipegers to stop lambasting the Phoenix fans!

I'm out after Glendale! Who cares about the city where they recorded that old TV series about a fat chef named Mel, with a mob of waitresses dressed in pink, just about ready for retirement, at the age of 30.
Tell Bryz, we've got lots of sand in Winnipeg, every springtime. If he wants some, much obliged.

I think someone here in the forum told him about the giant 15 pound skeeters that come out of the sewers from June to September...
And the dogs... The prairie dogs! Very ferocious little beasts who gnab at your ankles.
Don't forget the field mice too. They come right after, to clean whatever meat is left on the ankle bones.

Oh snap! Then I guess I'll pack it in because I'm sure this guy is fully connected to the inner workings of TNSE Rolling Eyes

I think the boys & girls who currently run the NHL have more influence than TNSE about whether or not Winnipeg gets a NHL franchise.

Some interesting info about the Coyotes finances circa 2008 from Forbes magazine online.

One of those articles was referenced on the radio this morning.

That Katz is indicating that it won't be the Coyotes coming to Winnipeg, but that Winnipeg is ready for an NHL team.

Article basically states Katz has no idea what he's talking about and is NOT in the loop.

If I'm going to question anyone about not being in the loop, it's Gary Lawless. I wouldn't expect Katz to have any more insider info than than a local sports writer spitting out Jets stories every two days.

I actually think Sam probably has some information about teh coyotes. given that he is a businessman that has dealings with several business men in both winnipeg and in Arizona.

Would not even blink if someone told me he was a contributing member of the gold water institute.
