I'll be in Phoenix Monday to watch the second last Coyotes game. For signage, I'm thinking about having a map of Manitoba with an arrow pointing at Winnipeg that says "You are here".

It would be fun watching Arizonians reaction to you and your sign. You should also wear a name tag that reads "Goldwater Institute".

You'd be the most popular person in the arena. Mind you, there may only be a few people in the arena...

I'd tell you to be careful of getting assaulted... but who will be there to hurt you?

It will be packed with Wings fans. Red Wings vs Coyotes is always a home game for Detroit, no matter where they play!

There's either a large number of fans who fly to Phoenix for games, or the 25% of the population they recently lost all moved to Arizona.

Maybe when we get our team back, instead of "Benny" as mascot, we could get "Goldie" the Goldwater Institute Bear.... as thank you to the Goldwater Institute for really making this a possibility. lol

With all the jets talk the last year and a bit, and keeping in mind that we are in winnipeg only for a couple years, when i heard of jets talk I started putting away an extra hundred a paycheck, now we have seasons in the bank. Ofcourse we're double income no kids types so either way we're getting tickets but I think they will sell seasons pretty quickly

a hockey game really should include kids CC. I offer to allow you to by me two season tickets right behind or next to you and I promise I will bring a kid to every game with me \

Silly question, would any existing NHL teams put up a block on a potential WPG team for geographical reasons, i.e. divisional/conference realignment issues?

As I understand it, there would be several teams that would switch divisions and at least one or two switching conferences should this happen.

Any insight, or is this putting the cart before the horse talk?

I expect there will be some angst if teams have to realign. I would imagine compensation would come into play. Like the Bombers being moved back and forth between the east and west divisions.

I don't believe any owner would block the move simply because it is the owners bleeding red while paying for the Coyotes extended stay in the desert. Rumour has it that team will lose $40 million this year. Subtract the $25 million guarantee Glendale paid, that leaves every owner on the hook for a half mil each.

Will they (or Glendale) be willing to pay that and more again next year?

I think our location is actually a bonus, especially if we get Atlanta.

Phoenix/Winnipeg would play in the Northwest division, switching spots with Colorado's allowing them less travel and saving them money.

If we got Atlanta, Detroit would move to the East which they've wanted to do for years now... To be in a position to do a favour and assist one of the leagues greatest franchises, you've got great leverage. It's surprising Detroit is such a good team, considering most road trips automatically take them out of their time zone.

meh.. vancouver goes to pacific division.. which would be a good thing with less time mixup stuff. they would be about teh only ones to need potential for compensation. work out way better for everyone else

I think it's more about travel distance than time zones.

Hey I saw a car with California plates at the Sobey's yesterday. That HAS to mean the Jet's are returning!

Is there still anyone out there that still thinks this is nothing more than a "pie-in-the-sky, pipe dream since the NHL will NEVER come back to Winnipeg because it's too small, too poor, not enough corporate support, blah blah blah."?
To all the naysayers, I'm graciously telling you lick my ballsack and deal with the FACT that the JETS are coming home!

The play-off's are over for the Coyotes. Swept four straight. Is that a prophesy of things to come?

Today the City of Glendale meet with the Goldwater Institute. That meeting is to happen in front of the media (no closed door meeting).

The NHL schedule has to be finalized. 2011/2012 travel arrangements must be made. The Moose need to find a new home.

Will the NHL have anything to say about the future of the Coyotes/Jets soon?

Actually, from what I gathered, it will be closed door, but there will be a few media personnel present to observe the dialogue as impartial parties.

As a player, I would be getting paid millions of dollars. Also, I would realize that being traded/relocated is part of the job, and because they are paying me like a king, I will go where ever I'm told to go, and not whine, b1tch and complain like a big crybaby because I can't wear short in January to my hockey game.

I have zero sympathy for this millionaires. Did you hear what Bryz and Belanger had to say about Winnipeg? Unbelievable levels of ignorance spewed out of their mouths and into the presses.

Shut up and do what you are told, or find a new career.
