What I find interesting is some of the "rules"-
Must take out only in the morning before 7AM- tons of snow, and you are trying to pull a garbage can on wheels?
Here in our area they are sending out city employees to take the cans out for us! lol
If stolen or damaged , you are responsible for them- Good luck.

I dont imagine that lasting very long at all. a few hundred calls into city councillors when some dumbass start vandalizing them and that rule will rather quickly be sidestepped.

I work at 4am. do I drive across the city at 6:30 to put my bin out then drive back to work? My boss would laugh at me if I asked to do that.
I will put my bin out the night before. If it goes missing then I will just let the garbage pile up on the boulevard. If they remove it and charge me, I will put up a legal fight.

Wasn't feeling great today, stayed home and the new, super duper, all singing, all dancing garbage bins were just delivered. I can hardly wait to go outside and try it out.

I saw the new trucks in action. Those cans will not last very long before they are damaged by the very equipment they've brought in to pick them up. And if the can is not positioned "just so" they won't pick it up. And if over-filled - yup, no pick-up.

Can someone remind me to drag my new garbage can to the back lane in the morning?
Headed out tonight to soccer (where else) and noticed the new bins along Kingsbury, which is kind of a back lane. Stuff piled on top, beside, etc. Interesting to see how that works out.

Anything not in the container will not be picked up. Anything on or beside the container will result in the entire pickup being skipped. There must be clear access all around the container or it will not be picked up.

And my biggest problem with that little statement is that I put my "can" out on the street where parking is allowed. I can't exactly be expected to wait around for the truck and then make sure that no asshat has come and parked to close to it now can I?
