yeah I will probably use mine as a in house carry to the big bin thing. Probably give the other ones to my sister or mom and dad. Or just keep them and use them to make snow castle blocks.

Yeah, I knows your not supposed to recycle your blue box back into the main recycling system....

They work excellent for build snow forts brick by brick....if you have enough snow...which usually isn't a problem most of the time....but with huge bricks the size of blue boxes....you can imagine how much snow you'd need to make a killer fort!

We use blue boxes for lots of things when they don't have recyclables in 'em....they work great during harvest time, hauling in all your freshly grown produce....

I've used them in the garage for countless things....makeshift sawhorses, extra storage (complete with drainage!) ....

When I was in Southern Ontario a few weeks ago, I noticed that no one in office buildings has actual "garbage cans" anymore. They all have recycling bins under desks or out where one would expect to find a garbage can. On the side of the blue boxes, they have this little black box that has a little baggie inside and a little lid...that's the "garbage can".....which makes sense if you have a lot of folks generating a lot of garbage and you have to export your garbage to other Countries to dump it (re: Detroit?) in!

I guess what shocked me more was the cultural change....here, we don't think anything (usually) about tossing something in the trash. We've got lots of room....no one can see Brady Road Landfill yet (unless you live on the South West side I guess....) so it's not really front and centre in most folks minds....that's where the 'keep piling it on'....type of attitude comes into play.
