20 and sunny in Vegas. I'm loving it, and I'm sure GC is as well! Going for a cruise around town with some buddies from Winnipeg who flew down at the same time I did!
This trip kicks ass!!!

I may be going to Vegas for a few days. If I am able to go to two shows, what two shows do you recommend? (Besides strippers..)

Thanks in advance for your thoughtful answers. :-)

Don't think you can go wrong with the Cirque shows. I'd check out one of the shows that can only be seen in Vegas due to the stage requirements such as "O" or Ka. You might also be interested in La Reve at the Wynn which is very similar to "O" although it's not technically a Cirque show. When we went with my daughter we also caught the jousting tournament at Excalibur and that was kind of neat, but aimed more at little ones. It was still fun, and relatively cheap by Vegas standards considering it included a meal.

I'd also look and see which bands and/or comedians will be in town the weekend you plan to be there. You never know who will be in town. Last time we went we had friends who saw Jay Leno at Mirage and they thought his stand up was surprisingly good. Very adult show compared to his Tonight Show act.

One that I'd avoid based on reviews from a few friends is the Chris Angel show at Luxor. I've heard from a few friends it sucked pretty bad.

I did a search on "vegas" and didn't come up with anything.

grumpyrom: thanks for the response. (I have heard as well that Chris Angel was disappointing.)

Dean: um .. ya ... pass on Celine, thanks. I am glad she wasn't part of the Olympic opening ceremonies.

I just met with someone who attended the Cirque "O" show last week. He said it is well worth the price.

There is another well populated thread on this very topic. I'll find it and merge the threads.

I had a great time! Weather was great, in fact one of the days it was the hottest day of 2010 so far. I won a little bit of money playing poker. I ate a lot of great food, but really loved this place, http://www.hashhouseagogo.com/ It's great for breakfast food that is very unique and not the same old traditional breakfast dishes.

It went by very quickly and can't wait to go back.

Oh and my flight back to Winnipeg was delayed when we were on the tarmac because president Obama chose to leave Vegas at the same time as us. Apparently when Air force One is arriving or leaving an airport all other movements must stop. But I got to see the Presidential motorcade zoom past our plane. Than had a front row seat for the take off of Air Force One. I got photos of the presidents plane and motorcade. I thought it was pretty neat and worth the 30 minute delay.

Thanks for that link, I may have to try that restaurant.

I leave Sunday night and come back Friday morning. I am taking about a $1,000.00 US with me and hoping that'll be enough. Anyone have any good buffet recommendations? I heard Binion's has a good steakhouse that I will have to try. If anyone has any other good recommendations I would appreciate it!
