Yes but it is something we can help to slow down and should be at least trying to , course some choose to stick their head in the sand .

I thought that there was no such thing as Global Warming...it's new name is Climate Change.

Personally, I think we should go back to the '70's name....Global Cooling. Anybody been outside this summer?

It applies to both sides. Some people stick their head up David Suzuki's you know what. Smile

ANYTHING we do today will have no impact for about 100 years.

I was just making the point that, yes, some people put their heads in the sand, drive their hummers, and claim humans had no effect on the environment.

On the flip side, some environmentalists are pretty narrowminded as well, and refuse to consider other reasons for climate change, such as changes in the sun, cycles, etc.

yeah the actual current change in the sun cycle "almost" makes up for all the "man-made" global warming portion of global warming its too bad that little fact is left out of most environmentalists data.

You'll be happy to know that I don't drive a hummer. Very Happy

Smile Me either!

I definitely lean towards the anti-Suzuki camp myself.

Just because she is the leader of the greens... does not mean she lives green.

What does she get paid to do nothing all year anyway? 80K plus expenses?

Is it that much? She's taking up being an Anglican minister. Can't see that paying all that well either.

cool summer good for polar bears
http://www.winnipegsun.com/news/canada/2009/08/18/10500806.html

A colder summer has been good for Hudson Bay polar bears.
Experts say the sea ice has lasted longer than it has in years, giving the bears more time to hunt and feed.

.....
says Hudson Bay is an anomaly this year and sea ice generally continues to melt at an alarming rate.

sigh... okay so we cant use ONE year as an indicator that things have turned around.. how many years can we use?

Be careful now as the answer is very important.

WANT TO JOIN THE RESISTANCE AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING HYSTERIA?

FORECAST: A COOLING TREND ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Average global temperature is rising at 1.40C per century, not the 3.90C indicated by the IPPC models. We are in the seventh year of global cooling. Sea levels, despite messages to the contrary, are rising at normal rates – eight inches per century – much less than the IPPC models suggested. There has been no significant rise in sea levels over the last four years. Arctic sea ice, currently in its summer state, is more extensive in 2009 than it was in 2007 and 2008. Antarctic sea ice is at record high. Global sea ice shows relative stability over the last thirty years. While CO2 levels are rising, the rate of growth has slowed considerably – the IPPC suggested that CO2 levels would grow at around 468 parts per million (ppm) per century, when in fact the observed growth in CO2 is 204 ppm per century – less than half of the IPPC model suggestion.
So who are we to believe?

My kids got me a great global warming book for Xmas, so I will be able to bore you with really good facts, that will allow you to sleep assured that IN THE NEXT 500 years or so not to worry that most governments that will be spending our hard earned tax money on different initiatives, have got their brains stuck up Suzukis a_ hole!
