My best friend and I are planning a girls week away in March. We aren't sure yet where we are going to go....I want Cuba and she doesn't really care as long as it isn't the Dominican we also want all inclusive. Can anyone recommend any websites with cheap deals? We plan on booking closer to the date we leave in hopes of getting the best possible price.

My only suggestion is looking at flying out of Fargo, you save a bunch of money and can also get 10 day stays as opposed to 7 & 14 only. The only thing with this is you have to factor in travel time to and from.

We were looking at that. We can also fly out of GF.

Whatever you do, stay away from Dominican. Another tourist murdered (Canadian) there the other day.

This site is one of, if not the best, for very cheap flights and/or vacation packages. You can get dirt cheap deals if you are willing to wait up to only a few weeks before you go. The way this site works is that if airlines/hotels/tour package dealers haven't sold out on the flights/ packages to various destinations, they slash the prices, sometimes up to 70-80% just so they can get rid of them. This is how I booked my Cuba trip about one month in advance. I paid less than $500, with taxes, for my 8 day trip to Havana. This trip would normally be around 1300-1500 with no discounts. There is never a guarantee that you will get discounts on exactly the destinations that you want to go to, but if you have a sense of adventure and are open to a variety of destination at relatively last minute bookings, this is the perfect website to book your trip on.

Thanks EdWin. We are looking at going to Cuba...I've been to Mexico and my friend has been to Dominican so we decided Cuba would be our best bet.

Well, you need to offer up some details. How many in the group? How many in the group are alcoholic? Are they into shopping or sitting and eating?
My fave's are NYC, London or Las Vegas. I gave my wife the choice last week and she picked LV. I prefer one of the others but whatever - the deals are everywhere. Now's the time to call a few of the dinoaurs who are still in the travel business - they're good at putting together the whole package for a few hundred $ fee. Save you the pain in the ass part.

We want warm, beaches, all inclusive. LV is still being discussed as my friend has family there so all we would have to pay for is the flight. NYC is on my list but my friend isn't into big cities...so we decided to look into Cuba. She has been there and I have not. I am turning 40 this month and this is my birthday present...a week away from my hubby and kids. Smile

Varadero is know to have the best and whitest beaches in the entire Caribbean. I was there for a day, and I can vouche for the beaches. Lots of Canadians there in February. If you do the all inclusive in Varadero, I would suggest to take on of the day bus trips into Havana, about 2 hours away. As the oldest and most populous city in the Caribbean, Havana is a city rich in culture, history and beautiful architecture. It is a very poor city though, and the roads and sidewalks are in very poor shape (you will definitely appreciate Winnipeg's infrastructure after visiting here Smile), but the people are very friendly and the city is very safe. If you want a few more tips on Havana, feel free to pm me and I will gladly share my experience with you. Cuba is definately worth it!

London England is my current fav. Not sure I'd select London as a winter getaway but most certainly as a favoured vacation destination.

Goth-Chic- you have to go to Cuba! I would like to order 25 hand rolled cuban on the mild side , larger the better cigars. I still have about 30 hand rolled Honduran that ended up costing about $4 each. My son bought some great $3 cigars big size for me right in the hotel that he stayed in 2 years ago.
If you can do , let me know and I will get you some U.S. money.

But, if you're going to Cuba, I don't think you can fly out of the US. No flights there that I'm aware of.

I've been to Jamaica, and it's pretty nice...lots of All-inclusive stuff down there.

If you want the all-inclusive packages...try a CAA agent, or selloffvacations.com (they have a local office you can actually go in to).

Typically an agent can get you a better deal on an all-inclusive...cause they get offered specials to push them.

"We want warm, beaches, all inclusive"

for $3000.00. I will crank the heat in my basement, throw some sand on the floor and give you all the food and booze you can handle... might even get a real sunlamp for you

All the typical touristy stuff. Not enough of the seeing real London stuff.Stayed at a little hotel called the Mad Hatter. Weird. Small beds (almost cot-like).

Did more walking than ever in my life! I was only a ten minute walk from the parliament buildings and Jubilee Gardens and the big Ferris wheel the London Eye. Much of that walking was in the areas in the move Love Actually. So I recognized much of that movies' landmarks. Did the big bus tourist trip. A boat ride down the Thames. Shopping in Hamleys toy store (a gotta see).

I'd LOVE to go back and go see real London and maybe go out into the countryside.

I just used expedia.ca to book a trip to Vegas in Febuary. It's a Monday to a Friday, so 4 nights with air fair and hotel it came to $497. I'm pumped and my wife is letting me go solo, so I can play poker all day!

Not too worried about finding space or deals. One of my close friends is a travel agent and she told me I will have no problems finding a deal. We are looking at staying at the Flamingo or MGM whichever gives us the best deal.

Location wise the Flamingo is better as it's right in the middle of the strip but the rooms are on the old side unless you book the Go rooms which have been recently reno'd. I had friends that stayed there and had bed bugs but that can happen in any huge hotel.

I've stayed at MGM and it's ok but don't expect much more than a typical Holiday Inn type soon unless your spring for the Bungalow suites. IMHO the best deals on the strip are at the Signature at MGM which is a condo hotel attached to the MGM but rooms start at 129 on week days so they're not exactly a deal.

I'd also keep an eye on Mirage and TI as they are also in a great location and have both been upgrading their rooms lately. If you can get a deal at Belagio or Wynn you can't go wrong either. Have fun.Smile
