28 wins 26 losses - 6 ties-

Great 3rd period, maybe I should sign up for the $10 per month TV coverage?

Winnipeg is now 29-26-6 after its third straight win, good for 64 points

--- a feat they have not accomplished since a stretch dating back to Dec. 27-31 --- while the Leafs are 29-24-6, also at 64, and the Panthers, who lost to Anaheim today, are 27-20-11 and remain at 65 points. The Jets did leap over the Washington Capitals, who were idle and have 63 points courtesy a 29-24-5 record.

Only 16 more wins needed to get to 96 points.

In your opinion the Jets need 96 points to get in the playoffs? For eighth place?

Is there any other play-off possibility we can look forward to?

I think that we can get first in the division. They have to beat Florida and Washington in the two remaining games against. Plus have to do well on this homestand.

Someone figured it out that by March 16, all games in hand will be used up, so we will know where we stand then

96 points is generally the target of any NHL coach for making the playoffs.

Last year one team (NYR) made the playoffs with 93 points. More teams with lower point totals can make the playoffs if you have teams running away with large portions of the points pool.

However most fans this year should be looking at the 96 point marker this season as the eastern conference is pretty balanced.

9 of our games are against teams in the East that have a worse record...

What about the conference champions? If Winnipeg wins the SE Division won't they enter the playoff rounds in one of the top FOUR playoff positions, with home ice advantage in the first and possibly subsequent rounds?

How many wins are required for 93 points or for first in the SE Division?

They would get 3rd place unless a massive collapse by the top two teams

With the win, the Jets improved to 30-26-7 (67 points) and vaulted past
the Florida Panthers (66points) for top sot in the Southeast and third
place in the Eastern Conference standings, though the Panthers hold four
games in hand.

So if the playoffs were to start today, who would they play in the first round?
(I don't understand how it works when the top team in the division has less points than the 7th team in the conference).
No, this is NOT meant to be a shot.
Thanks. Smile

Comon guys. How can you possibly care about what this teams record is when there are MILLIONS of your hard earned taxpayers dollars going towards a bunch of rich spoil-rotten million brats that really don't have any net benefit to Winnipeg. Why would you want something as useless as that? The NHL is TOO RICH for Winnipeg, which is TOO SMALL to support the big leagues.

I say we get rid of the Jets AGAIN and fix those darn potholes, you know, since that is the key to the future of a successful city!

Agreed. I don't know how we all were suckered in to believe. I will volunteer to set up a 1-800-POTHOLES line and website.

THAT will make Winnipeg whole again.

Could you please point out the post that said anything about getting rid of the Jets.
Thanks
