In theory the class size cap is a good idea.

In practice it's just another example of stupid policy made without consultation.

Going from 20 kids in grade3 to 30 in grade 4, and sometimes that also means a diffferent school.

More salaries for the counsellors and resource staff needed to deal with the issues arising from this. Of course Prov will cry poor and try to shift blame onto the divisions for their policies!

Goes back to the issue of having all these school divisions and trustees, when its the province that makes policy and then holds trustees accountable.

But if a trustee speaks out, the school board can suspend them for 90 days. Can the province put in a similar rule to suspend useless MLA's?

If the government insists on shrinking the class sizes to 20, the money has to come from somewhere.
They can also shrink the number of school divisions while they are at it to help pay for the new teachers, classrooms, etc.

I like the part of ... the government campaigned on this and now it wont be implemented until 2017. Think about that. 5 years is how long they figure it will take to implement. FIVE YEARS!... yet some school divisions and schools were under the impression it needs to be done NOW... and have started implementing it.

I think they are very grossly underestimating what this will cost and schools and school divisions will suffer because of it.

If the ndp are saying it won't happen until 2017 it is because they believe they won't win the next election and the optics will be the winning party are evil incarnate because of a need to increase taxes to pay for their promises.
