$12 for a meal of hamburger and fries is waaay tooo much, in my humble opinion.
We have been brainwashed into spending 5 times what the ingredients cost for very unhealthy food, except that the food is loaded with all sorts of really tasty salts!

For those who are wondering as to when Five Guys will be opening, I rec'd an email from corporate that states summer of 2012 should be the opening of the first franchise in Winnipeg. That's not all, they gave the address as:
Pembina Hwy
2425 Pembina Hwy
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Which is located at the corner of Bison and Pembina Hwy.

My pleasure, I was surprised that a corporate office was that open with information. I was also told to keep checking on their website franchise locations.

Not a huge surprise. Their corporate office was talking about opening a location on south Pembina close to the U of M since the beginning.
From the WFP in Feb 2011.
Ben Hernandez, managing partner of the Virginia-based chain's eight-month-old Brandon outlet, said he's hoping leases will be completed shortly on Kenaston Boulevard near McGillivray Boulevard, Pembina Highway near the University of Manitoba and in Transcona.

Fat, sugar and salt are all killers. Nothing wrong with eating "bad" once in a while...follow the 80/20 diet, 80% of the time eat healthy and 20% anything goes.
