Precisely. He is misdirecting us with a typical cyclist diversionary tactic (DTs).

Did you not know that the diamonds were put in to read your mind by the Political Parties of Canada

I never said they were a part of the group, only that we control them -
sort of like pawns in a chess game, or the UN to the Americans.

Heh - I spoke with a volunteer for my MP on the phone yesterday asking
for my support this election (which she would have had anyway).
She asked what issues were of importance to me... I don't think she
expected to hear "Arctic Sovereignty".

Hey! This thread is about bicycle issues. Unless the mind reading politicians are on bicycles then you are in the wrong thread. Where the hell are the mods? How do these threads go so far off topic?

I was gonna suggest bike paths up north to ensure our sovereignty. Duh.

Seriously though, they gotta get moving on those bike paths (in Winnipeg, not the Arctic) soon, so we
can free up the diamond lanes for the exclusive use of buses.

I was actually going to ask if anyone has any map-drawing skills?
I have an idea for a bike-path proposal which may be worth presenting to the city.
There is (of course) a cost...but perhaps one that can solve several issues all at once.
My skills are terrible...I could pull up a map and draw on it I suppose...but I was hoping for something a bit more detailed.

It's a little more elaborate than that.
It's more of a design factor than a map factor.

What the hell do we need bike paths for?? We have sidewalks. Drove to work today, dropped #3 son at U of W and headed west on Portage making right turn onto Sherbrook. I had the green, little red hand showing but asshole on bike at full speed RIDING ON THE BLOODY SIDEWALK whips into the intersection. Hit brakes, hit horn, but unfortunately did not hit asshole on bike.

Sorry for the rant, but the cycling crowd is quickly losing my support for anything until they learn the rules of the road.

I agree. It seems to me that the good bicycle riders are the newbies. The arseholes are the ones in spandex that believe that bicycles have no rules.

My favorite is when the ride up to a crosswalk and suddenly become pedestrians.

I find it more annoying when they tie up traffic on Friday afternoon to protest their right to tie up traffic on Friday afternoon.

I agree 110% with that asshats comment....lol. Got tied up by those morons 3 times in one ride home 2 summers ago thanks to their winding route and the traffic backups they caused. A 30 min drive home ended up being over an hour and a half....ugh. Every time I thought I was done with them and traffic was starting to flow again I'd run into them again further down my route.

I don't know how I kept calm enough to avoid running through their pack.

so over all on that occasion they significantly increased the amount of carbon spewed that day...

good to know.

STAY OFF THE SIDEWALKS!!!

I agree with you...and when I have time to see someone riding on a sidewalk coming towards an intersection I'm going to use...I make a point of pulling across the crosswalk, forcing them to stop and/or go into the street where they BELONG!!!

Preaching here is almost pointless...since most everyone here agrees already...but I'd love to go to that meeting and bring up that topic.

Why Not Winnipeg- mainly because we have winter 7 months of the year. Look outside ,it is April 8th and maybe bicycles could be navigating some of the streets if they don't mind getting splashed. So from Novenber to march 5 months bicycling is less than good, except for the die hard "nut cases" who drive to work at -40 with 12"of snow on the ground. God Bless them, but no thank you to putting resources for bike paths, we would do better to have paths for snow mobiles!!

that is a true loserpeg attitude. We have beautiful, yet short summers, and we make the most of those months. Active transportation is a great way to keep in shape, so we don't turn into 65 year old grumps complaining about their back pain! :LOL!:

Besides, in the winter months, the bicycle paths could be used for snowshoeing or skiiing!

Bikes still need to ride to the rules , and I think as long as safely done be on the sidewalk. better there as it is safer then the streets in many circumstances .
