Rolling Eyes

Sometimes your logic doesn't go all the way to the top floor I've noticed.

Sometimes people are their own worst enemies.
I wonder if any of the people who were blowing through the flashing cross-walk light are now regretting their actions now that they have to wait for a whole red light cycle to pass.

I doubt it is that simple. I would be willing to bet there were other factors involved, probably both the volume of pedestrians crossing a very busy street, many of whom are very cavalier and careless and cars in too much of a hurry due to that bottleneck.

Wanna bet more pedestrians will be hit now that they have to wait for the light to cycle and too many won't wait?

Old habits die hard. Sad
I will pass on the bet. Smile
PS: Some drivers are pretty cavalier too.

One of the problems with that intersection is that there is a bend in the road right there...at Wardlaw.

If you are going southbound, and there's a bus at the bus stop, one only has a fraction of a second to react to someone just pressing and crossing.

If people just cross without regards to their own well being (and rely on a driver's reaction) I reckon a bit of a natural selection process comes into play.

I know when I cross at a crosswalk, I always watch for cars that may not stop.
