I dunno GOM, outsider appears to take issue with the name, so I would have to agree that it should not be used.
not even asking for an apology, just dont use the name

mind you... its not really a name more of an action name. so this would be a tough one to call, simple solution.. roll your eyes and dont use the name

I really doubt the NHL would admit it had a plan to move the coyotes right before they start a playoff run and lose what little support that team has in Phoenix.

I don't think that's true. He's gone on record in recent memory saying Winnipeg is in a better position now to have a team.

Bettman was given a directive from the Board to expand to the US. It made sense - Winnipeg was failing for many reasons (arena, owners, dollar, etc), and the thinking was that a larger population would bring in more dollars.

He, and the board, are going to follow the money. If there is money to be made here, he's going to go for it and not give a spit about appearing to admit failure.

In my opinion, natch!

Here's the thing, right or wrong, I'm taking a positive approach to the news. It is too easy for the naysayers to dump on this news. They don't have an imagination and can't seem to think a positive thought. They must be an absolute hoot to be around.

I'd rather be wrong but enthusiastic than sh1t on every good piece of news that I hear.

Being a realist is a good thing, when applied properly. Calling yourself a realist and crapping all over the NHLs return on the basis that we lost an NHL team once, have an NDP government, and a lot of Dollaramas is being defeatist.

I think Dickheadman is looking at other cities before he'd consider Winnipeg AGAIN...key word being again. Dallas or even Seattle are ahead of us on the list....that's just being real, imo. Wink

I'm surprised Seattle has not received a franchise yet. Same with Portland. I always thought those areas would do well.

Bettman is rumoured to be looking at Kansas City and even Las Vegas.

That does not preclude the next city from being our beloved Winnipeg...
