I had dinner with Prince Charles years ago, and you know what...nodbody gives a sh1t about that either.

If you had dinner with Prince Charles I'd be very impressed.

Be impressed then. Prince Charles is the Colonel in Chief of several Canadian Regiments including the one I served in. He visited the Regiment, amongst others, in the lates 70's and before the parade, individuals were selected to have dinner with him. A the time, I was a MCpl and President of the Junior NCO's Mess, and I attended the dinner.

Would you be impressed if I told you I was at his wedding to Princess Diana as well??

Even more so. I mean we are essentially judged by what we've done and who we've met, so the fact that you've been in the presence of royalty impressed me greatly.

Also, your presence in the military is another atout. Let's face it, most people aren't cut out to do that kind of high pressure job, it's hard on the individual and on the family, but someone has to stand up and defend the value of freedom abroad.

People, please stop ignorantly slandering liberalism, when I say it I'm not refering to a Liberal party, but rather a belief in individual liberty and a competitive marketplace without un-needed government intervention.

I recently attended a Liberal studies conference (from l'Institut économique de Montréal) and the arguments were against welfarism and rent control.

The fact that the federals Conservatives are so quick to run huge deficits, charging the tax payer for their party publicity, and the provincial Tory's insist on huge government intervention in private mutual funds (ex: Crocus) proves that they are more communist than the Liberal party anyway. (Selinger is more of a Competitive-Market defender than McFayden!)

You do realize that Ignatieff is more of a defender of individual liberty than Harper, don't you? He even wrote a book on the subject called "Rights Revolution" where he argues that democracy and individual property rights defend [economically] Liberal societies from communist policy of forced equalization. The guy would be fantastic for free-trade and international business investment.

I always thought I was judged by who I am, not who I met, but thats just me.

Why do you now change your tact? Your earlier posts are certainly praising the attributes (?) of Liberal politicians, but now you are referring to small "l" liberalism.

(Selinger is more of a Competitive-Market defender than McFayden!) You funny!!
