When I took lifesaving , sometime in the early last century , around 1956, the punch to get control was one of the recommended weighs to do a rescue! Today with the Human Rights Commission, sending an e-mail is recommended to prevent lawsuits! lol

LOL @ " "The firefighters said to me, 'You're a hero, you saved a
life'." Hall said. "I said, 'Well, possibly, but can I get a blanket?
I'm kind of cold."

That was probably the first bath he had in months!

I think they want the people to give them a lifetime supply of something to sniff.

Mayor gave him and his buddy season tickets to the goldeyes
he is up for the province giving him something tommorow and the city as well.

I hope this turns his life around.

I see on the news that people are saying things like.. this totally changes my opinion of homeless people ( really? wow you are pretty shallow aren't you) and another lady saying, maybe this will make it so that there are no homeless people in Winnipeg.

Sheesh.. some people freakin choose to be homeless I guess thats a little hard to understand for some, but it it true.

After watching him on TV tonight, pretty sure this is teh gentleman that sat with me and had a good discussion about racism at the bus stop last month, totally shocked him that I shook his hand and sat there talking to him, and I mgiht add he never asked for a dime for all those that assume he was just hitting me up for money

heh, then again what with not shaving and dressing pretty scragly maybe he thought I lived on the street too Smile

you know I was thinking about this.

This guy is not exactly homeless is he? He has lived in the same place for pretty much 7 years. Just because his idea of a home is different from yours and mine, should we really be calling him homeless?

Wouldn't that technically make where he's living his own property?

I know in places in the US...if you "squat" in one location long enough...the property defaults to yours...no matter who owns it while you're squatting.

i believe you have to squat and somehow make improvements of some sort..

Apparently (from what I can find) it's illegal to "squat" in Canada.

There used to be "homesteading" over 100 years ago, but that has been abolished.

In the US...there's varied rules from State to State...but in general...it's still legal, and the term before property becomes yours is 7 years. At that point, you have to start paying property taxes.

Pretty hard to squat for 7 years...you'd have to stand up sometime, even to just stretch.

Gordon Sinclair doesn't think much of what the mayor has done to recognize the homeless guy that saved the kid. If Sinclair was to fall in the river, who would jump in to save him?

ahhh nice clip today on the news, he (the rescuer) has said that knowing so many people care just might be enough to turn his life around again.

damn that would be good. Gonna be hard for sure, good luck dude.

In the last interview of him that I saw, he was sober and quite articulate.

Remember eh...there but for the Grace of God...

I think Sinclair has proven that his hatred of Sam outweighs his compassion for man. Funny how in 2004 Sinclair was all Sam this and Sam that and oo ooo please Sam run for office. And now this very obvious hate towards him.

I wonder what it is that Sinclair knows or thinks he knows about Sam or Sam's actions that has made his attitude turn around so much?
