Don "something or other" from KY58 about 30 years ago was the best morning man in my books. His "fruit of my loin" early morning phone calls to his just wakened teenage son were priceless.

i listen to 97 on the morning drive to work and The Great Canadian Talk Show on my way home... and even then some times my radio makes its way back to 97 when marty gets going on an rant that he just cant seem to escape from.

Having worked with Ron Able in the late 80's, I can confirm all the
good things being said about him in the press. What you heard on the
air was exactly what he was like off the air, a genuinely good soul. He

CITI FM will be impacted. Maybe Marty Gold will be the drive show host...Fans of the golden oldies now have a new Winnipeg radio station to tune into.
Curve 94.3 is now FAB 94.3, a station devoted to the “super hits” of the 1960s and ‘70s.
CHUM Radio Winnipeg announced the switch Sunday, and the new station was on the air as of 3 p.m.
Listeners won’t be hearing current pop hits anymore. Instead, they will hear music from artists such as The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart and K.C. and the Sunshine Band.
BOB FM radio hosts Beau, Tom and Frazier will launch a new morning show on FAB 94.3 starting Jan. 4 at 6 a.m. Former Curve hosts Andrea and Jay will switch to a new morning show on 99.9 BOB FM, to launch the same day.

Wow, really? I thought curve actually had some teeth. Of course, I thought Hank FM did too, but apparently I'm the super minority. The thought of another oldies station on here sickens me. We've got Citi, Bob, Groove, and Clear already!
BTW, I think Andrea and Jay are horrible morning show hosts. They have HORRIBLE jokes.

Sickens? Why? Isn't that an over-reaction? One could argue the presence of another such station implies there is a demand for that kind of station.
I really only listen to two Winnipeg stations. CITI and when that bores me Clear FM. On occation I listend to the marty gold station (but no more) and CJOB.
Mostly I listen to the Blue Collar Comedy station.

I listened to FAB for a while this afternoon. However, that ended when they went from "Somebody" by Bryan Adams to "Cherish" by the Association. Good Lord, that was awful. I wouldn't play those songs on the same day, nevermind back-to-back.

I hope it gets more exciting. Had 94 on in the car yesterday, it was oldies alright, but the tame, quiet, back-ground-music oldies, not fun stuff with pizazz. It would put my grandma to sleep!

I like Fab, but it is lighter. There is NO reason for 92CITI to be worried.
Ecstatic that Beau is gone from the BOBFM morning show, but I wish they'd get Steve and Harry back. Jay and Andrea are out of the frying pan and into another frying pan.
