What is the Mosquito Report in Your part of Winnipeg?

oh I understand that. Its quite frankly a terrible outcome. But what if we as a society are 99.99% immune already? Or 60% immune? should we not track this until we reach 99.99% immunity? Heck, why dont we offer a freakin shot for immunity?

Better yet why dont we actually target the carrier of the disease instead of the mosquito which just gets it from the carrier and passes it on to a human?

Apparently city sprays when the count is at 25. DeanK the brain damaged citizens are all hired by the City!

We tried, albeit surreptitiously, to fight West Nile Virus that way once, but those bloody Egyptians got pissed off when we sprayed their river banks. But that might just be a rumour I heard.

Our city has another national title under its belt, but this one isn't one most will be happy to have.

Edmonton is now the mosquito capital of Canada, taking the title from Winnipeg.

The Manitoba city has held the title for the last several years.

Edmonton's mosquito count is now significantly above the Winnipeg count.

This week, there were more than 560 mosquitoes per trap in Edmonton, nearly 19 times more than last week, when there were 30.

Winnipeg has just six per trap.

Edmonton officials say a third round of mosquito control programs is underway, but numbers are still expected to rise.

City officials are considering spot spraying festival sites.

The city's control budget has been cut by almost $200,000 dollars this year.

With mosquito counts of 560, Edmonton is only thinking of spot spraying???

Good heavens. How high do they have to get before there is an automatic decision made? 1000 perhaps?

I heard on the news yesterday that Edmonton counts are for a week whereas Winnipeg counts/reports daily.

Whatever, Edmonton, you are welcome to that title...

It takes them 4-5 days to find anyone who can count up to 100, thereby causing a massive delay in getting this information!
