well duh... electoral reform is needed based on popular vote.

and bob Rae says

well sure the cons are the majority but only 40% of the people want them... that means 60% dont!

meh.

if there were ONLY two choices I would agree with a statement like that.

What % of the popular vote did the lieberals have when last elected to a majority?

That's what we'll be hearing for the next 4.5 years.

I am not sure what to make of all of this come provincial election. numbers are real close between orange and blue in Manitoba tonight.

^ Good to see. Very close to the end. Lots of new, young families moving into Transcona, families with a little more of a different mentality, and definately more of a PC kind of mentality, replacing the older generation NDP mentality, one step at a time of course.

Most of the lefties on my facebook friends list are whining and complaining. Calling our system flawed, I am confident if Layton (shudder) had won they would be praising our system. Too funny. They are convinced Harper has some secret agenda, that he is some evil dude who will destroy Canada.

Harper (and McFadyen!) have some work to do improving their image. Perhaps that is endemic of conservative leaders?

This shocked me. Coming in over the Redwood Bridge there was nothing but a parade of Orange signs. I thought this was going to be Malloway's by a landslide!

The party usually pays them what they would have been making as an MP.

jacko and his ndp will not win four years from now. Yesterday was but a convenient blip in history. What MIGHT happen is the lieberals and ndp merge creating a left-of-centre opposition to harper's right-of-centre.
Then there will be the inconvenient bloc and greens to deal with...

Heh. Layton will have his work cut out for him. Imo, it'll take 4 years for him to get a grip on them and teach them how to behave in Parliament.

I'm starting to think that Quebeckers are all fools. They elected people that were not even in their ridings during the election. They were partying in Vegas and another in Mexico. WTF's with that?

I think Harper's going to have an easy time in question period for a very long time.

Last night was watching the asshats on CBC they were grilling the NDP guy saying..

BUT how can you expect to get anything done ... they have a massive majority!!

and the guy was like duh.. just like in any majority government.

then I realized the interviewer was so young she probably has not known anything but minority governments in her adult life so she just had no clue.
