The proverbial icing on the cake is that the Mountie also "confiscated" the beer.

AND...lots of girls who are "tipsy" want to get thier picture taken with the cops and fireman and what have you... just search facebook for a little while and you will see a lot of them.
By more importantly is it better to be an ass and tell the girls no.. and no and no... or just get it over with?
Or maybe steal the camera from them?
I like what this cop did.

I think this officer did the right thing. Its nice to see that cops can still be human sometimes!

I think everyone thinks the officer did the right thing, except the one complainer who has an ax to grind.

from what I see ( and from experience growing up in Rural Canada)
They had a non drunk driver. With passengers drinking in the vehicle. The cop pulled them over. found the open liqour. Let them choose who was going to be charged with open liquor. Confiscated the evidence.... Posed with the thankful partiers ( cause he could have charged them all ) ... and sent them on their way... Is there really a problem here? Should this guy be investigated?

I have been in a car where this exact same scenario played out, minus the photo's.

We would all chip in and help pay the fine. No problems and we were glad no DUI's were issued and such.

This context of this article and the pictures are a bit construed. If the incidents happened separately, fine. Having your picture taken with an officer of the law, city, RCMP or Military can be a good thing as you see and show them as human and that they are not "untouchable". This Mountie was doing his job by confiscating the alcohol and charging someone with the open liquor. But the two incidents combined together is what puts his judgment into question. Remember the incident a few years back with regards to the fire station in Osborne Village? All of the incidents in that case put together made up a really bad scenario but taken alone, each of them were not that bad.

I remember it.. And there was nothing at all wrong with that situation.

Because complainers typically have poor grammar and no punctuation?

Well, let's be fair now. Could it be that poor grammar and punctuation leads to a lifetime of complaining? Chicken and egg thing no?
