okay... thats a little bizarre.

Fisher's driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and the unmarked car was impounded for seven days.

How does one impound ones own vehicle?

heh.... probably had called it in already then realized it was an unmarked police car... and by that time nothing he could do about it. Smile

They impounded a car that belonged to the OPP?

yeah thats the part I cant get my head around.

In manitoba i know the law for impounding a vehicle from a crime has to deal with if the owner knew the vehicle was being used for that purpose .. I would think that would stand to reason.. so why would the OPP impound its own vehicle?

Unless the police cars routinely park in the impound lot. If the car is assigned to that cop only, then it must be parked for a week.

I believe that all cars (vehicles) are impounded but then, the registered owner has to show cause why it shouldn't be kept impounded, if the owner didn't do the crime.
