Trin, Hugh had no chance against Doer and the NDP team. Hugh will have no chance against Selinger becasue he's not offering anyhting of substance and the NDP team will not just roll over. They are WINNING, and that is all that matters.

As far as "business" backing Hugh, forget it. The NDP have doled our more coin to satisfy everyone. From forced wages to the upside on contracts, to massive expenditures on contracts. The NDP have been fueling the economy for wuite sometime. I think most are satisfied with their performance and with a further 17 Billion in the pipeline of spending, why not. After all, what is Hugh offering ? From where I sit, I see nothing of substance.

I will vote, but I will void my ballot.

Heh...imo, it's "someone else's time" to govern...the cycle has run out for the NDP...people are just tired of them.

Hughie should use the slogan "It'll only take us 5 years to do nothing." Smile

Hugh hasn't offered anything of substance because he has yet to show his cards. Just wait.

Business already backs the Cons and Hugh.

The NDP most certainly have spent transfer payments like there's no tomorrow. Everyone knows that the transfer payments will shrink. In that scenario, the voters will choose the Cons over the NDP to manage a reduced budget.

All governments eventually lose power. This is the year the NDP will go. Sure, eventually, they will be back. But not anytime soon.

Show his cards ???? Whats he waiting for ? Are you kidding me ?

A municipal funding formula is possibly the single biggest issue he can bring to the table. Not only is it Province wide and gets the attention of every mayor and council in every to0wn and burg ( thereby giving him alot of friends campaigning for him, free ). It also gets the message out to every voter that tax dollars will be coming back to them.

And if that message is strong enpough that the NDP have to counteroffer, even better. Hugh can point out he brought the deal to the table and he has the vision for new governance and that he is prepared to adjust the budget in order that this funding flows back to constituents.

Or , he can come up with 20 perks he's going to offer and confuse the issue to a poijnt his message is weak and muddled......so, he'll lose.

As for length of time a government stays in power. Wouldn't count on that for a PC win. Unless the NDP really screw up, and they haven't or haven't been shown to have had by said same Hugh, the team players will vote the same way.

Again, the NDP have and will continue to spend money which makes everyone happy. From contractors, to government employees, when the money flows, all is good.
