1. Privatize health care.
2. Put the Hydro line down the East side.
3. Eliminate the Payroll Tax.
4. Downsize the Civil Service.
5. Cut spending.
6. Introduce workfare.
Any other ideas?

7. Do nothing, but spend the next 10 years blaming everything on the former NDP government. (It worked for them) Smile

End the Farce of photo enforcement being about safety and focus on real safety iniatives.

make the forced sewage upgrades be based on scientific evidence

stop dabbling in areas of funding that it does not have the responsibility to.

Stop the cities and RMs from dabbling in funding of areas that they should not be funding.

remove every single provincial board appointment made in the last 12 years and put them to elected positions based on qualifications.

reduce the Winnipeg School boards to one board.

retroactively re-instate the deficit laws we had, including getting money back from the current MLAs who were supposed to be subject to wage penalties.

make it illegal for any provincial government agency to have a "no lay off" policy in its contracts.

significantly reduce the number of people working in the administration at WRHA.

But it wont happen. McFadyen is a terrible leader and until they replace him the PCs will do no more then get a very slim minority government that will last no more then 1-2 years before being turfed.

You're saying that after two years of Hugh, the NDP will get back in?

What are the biggest reasons why you think he's a terrible leader?

He's fricken invisible for one.

He has said almost nothing about all the BS the ndp has undertaken in the last few years.

He promised to bring back the Jets.

He has no charisma.

because he is a moron that has been unable to capitalize in an effective way on the horrendous leadership of the NDP over the last two elections.

He does not know how to make his voice heard on even the smallest of issues.

the only reason he MIGHT take a minority is the leader of the NDP is a moron as well... that will change almost immediately if the NDP does lose majority and it will take LESS then two years for a PC minority government to fall.

will it give a NPD minority or another Majority after that? I dont know. I guess its conceivable that the Liberals could somehow stick a foot in there.

Is it true that both the Liberals and Conservatives tried to get Gary Doer as a candiate, before he ran for the NDP?

Doer is more of a Liberal then an NDP... at least based on the lsat number of years policies. I wonder now with the NDP going back to its roots under the new leader if Libs will get more votes in the coming election?

I agree with most of what has been suggested. There are a couple of items that I either don't agree with or perhaps can be done better and more efficiently:

Privatizing health care isn't an option. AI do think WRHA needs to be downsized significantly in their bureaucracy. They have essentially been the biggest developer in Winnipeg over the last few years.

I don't know if amalgamating all school boards into one is a good idea. I would favor an assessment of the total number of boards and boundaries. I'd also suggest implementing a review of School Board administration and implement penalties for bargaining in bad faith with teachers unions ( since none of the boards seem to think to think there is anything wrong with their current practice of bargaining in bad faith)

Revamp the balanced budget legislation and reporting. Yes, you need to be compliant with GAAP; but balanced budget legislation should be applied to the operating budget, not the consolidated numbers ( exclude Hydro, MPI, etc.)

Youse guys misunderestimate Hugh's strategery.

You don't campaign all out, full steam, two years ahead of an election.

You pace yourself and run flat out in the months prior to the election. People have short attention spans, so you need to hit them hard with your message a few months before the vote.

Hugh is also wise to not reveal his strategery too soon. He knows that just a few ridings separate first and second place.

The race is still young. The Cons have an impressive braintrust of keen political operatives to draw upon to ensure a solid victory. Will Hugh rise to the occasion? I'm betting he will learn from his mistakes from the last election and will be victorious.

When people ask themselves, who would make a better primier, Hugh beats Selinger easily.

you mean like he did the last two elections right? Like how he was a complete and utter moron and refused to actually attack on the issues and instead brought up.. bring the jets back?

fucktard.. thats what he is.

You know why doer won? It had nothing to do with a vote rigging scandal and everything to do with him yelling his head off day in and day out for 8 years.

I said that already. and the NDP will wake up and give their heads a collective shake and actually put someone with substance in.. in two years when the hughie minority gov falls.

You know you are wrong. So you wont bet.

The Cons should have dumped hughie after the last election and put someone else in. Would damn near guarantee them a solid majority if it was the right person especially considering the "leader" the NDP chose. But now? Minority at best and the NDP wont be so stupid as to leave their "leader" in power.
