I loved transformers growing up..
was really dismayed when they started releasing all these wierd spin off/story line contuniations.

and never ever could really figure out why most of the bad guys were jets.. and most of the good guys were cars.... and how the hell the jets just could not get away with carpet bombing the dumbasses car from some ridiculous multi miles up in the air.

(or why some good guys were jets as well... but obviously really suckey jets )

Wait... which version of transformers did you watch.. One of those crappy spin off ones where they end up being lions or tigers or some sort of wacked thing way back in history but in the future and they are actually on Cybertron?

Those weren't Transformers...that was Voltron!!! Very Happy

Saw the second Hellboy movie. Both are entertaining as hell. Plus Selma Blair looks hot.

We watched Tropic Thunder last night....unfortunately I fell asleep but my hubby enjoyed it...it could've been because of the herb we partook in before the movie...I feel asleep and he laughed his ass off. Go figure...

I saw Tropic Thunder yesterday as well (peering up from the dungeon). It was good. I like most of Ben Stiller's movies. That had some laugh out loud moments but was on average and average movie.

The hubby thought that was Tom Cruises best performance..

I give burn after reading a 4/5. The best part was the CIA chief (JK Simmons) and his reaction to the updates from his lackey.

Also recently saw Tropic Thunder (Would love to see Tropic Blunder). Well executed in all respects. Does the PSA about mentally challenged persons make up for it though?

For those of you who are tempted by some new kids movies...
3 pigs and a baby
2 out of 5 stars

totally not entertaining at all. A running gag of every single pig on the planet not knowing what a wolf looks like, but they are still deathly afraid of them.. just does not cut the mustard.

I wouldn't give it more than a 3/5... but that part was pretty funny...

CIA Superior:
What did we learn, Palmer?

CIA Officer:
I don't know, sir.

CIA Superior:
I don't fuckin' know either. I guess we learned not to do it again.

CIA Officer:
Yes, sir.

CIA Superior:
I'm fucked if I know what we did.

CIA Officer:
Yes, sir, it's, uh, hard to say

CIA Superior:
Jesus fricking Christ.

The Visitor 4/5

In an ocean of crap, here's a quality film with a terrific performance by the lead actor. In fact, he, Richard Jenkins, was nominated for an Best Actor Oscar.

He's a seemingly busy, boring professor who travels to a conference in NY and is surprised to discover an immigrant couple living in his apartment and through this chance encounter, his life changes as he comes to grip with the reality of his existence.

We've seen Richard Jenkins in a lot of films but he is usually given cliched supporting roles. He's a bit understated and at times, quite funny. If you liked The Station Agent, you might enjoy this film.

23 1/5

Jim Carey plays a dog catcher, who stumbles across a mysterious book about the number 23. Soon, he sees 23 just about everywhere, in names, dates, addresses, etc., all of which makes him think that the book is really about him.

An interesting concept ends up becoming boring as the twists are downright silly.

I heard the new Star Trek movie had a high (4/5) ranking as well. Let's hope this bodes well for the quality of movies going forward.

Bangkok Dangerous 2/5

Nicholas Cage plays a freelance assassin who never directly meets his clients, never gets close to anyone and who must know when to leave. A chance meeting with a guy hired to be his courier changed all that, of course. And when the two of them fall for a couple of women, they become increasingly vulnerable as they carry out their duties.

I could not believe the amount of make-up that Nicholas Cage had on. If you watch this film, check out how much he unintentionally looks like a drag queen.

The story is extremely formulaic and downright boring.
