Is it worth $10.00 to get in?

How about the popcorn and snack prices? Do you fel ripped off, or do you boycott buying 10 cents worth of popcorn for $3.00?

To experience a film - especially if it is an action flic - a big screen is worth the price if the seats are good and the view unobstructed. As to snacks, overpriced for sure which is why i bring my own....or eat before I get to the cinema.

Are any of the cinemas in Winnipeg $10? I think Silvercity is the most expensive at $9, but they also have access to all the blockbuster movies. Silvercity also has a snack deal on Tuesdays. If you want a more affordable ticket price, go to Grant Park or Globe Cinema. Even better, go to cheap seats. Globe Cinema also has dinner and a movie deals with the Line Up and the new place that replaced Partner's.

Last time I went to a movie theater there was a piano player providing the soundtrack.

Movie to me are something I watch on my TV. I can pause any time, drink beer and most importantly, watch while wearing only underwear.

Added bonus features: no one is talking out loud, answering a cell phone or kicking the back of my seat.

I believe I was behind you at that movie talking out loud, answering a cell phone and kicking the back of your seat --- in my underwear.

Not sure why I've not gone to another movie since...

I went to Grant Park yesterday, $6.99 mon-thurs, saw a great suspense movie, that others had rated 4-5 stars. The movie was fantastic, so much so that I cannot remember the name- Helen Mirren and 2 male bimbos that I recognized their names, one an Australian who is an oscar winner, Ben Affleck name just fell out of my loose mind, Crowe the other.
The price on popcorn and a drink-$9.99, and a small drink at 3.49 . I took a pepsi in a can , cost 40 cents, but did not drink it their.

The movie is called State of Play...the type of movie many who post in this forum would love...as it's all about conspiracies and government secrecy.

Yes I got to the movies about 4-5 times a year. I rent movies more often than that.
It's nice to get out once in a while, and some movies need to be seen on the big screen.
I don't often buy the snacks at the movies.

How anti-supportive of you.

The theaters don't make any money from the ticket-sales. They strictly survive on their overpriced popcorn & drinks.

Not to mention the fact that a movie without popcorn is just sacrilegious.

And why rent movies? It's cheaper now to buy them. Watch them with a
friend or family member, and you've paid for it on one viewing. Watch
them more than once, and now YOU'RE making money on them. Rent them
out to friends, and now you're breaking the law Wink...but still making
money on them.
