The Ex is back. Anyone going? What are your fondest Ex moments? Worst? Is the current location the best location? Where would you prefer it? Who was the best band ever to appear at the Ex? Favourite Ex food?

What I always remember were the smells and the crowds.

I remember the mini donuts, the line ups for rides and of course all the games.

Today I am being dragged to the ex, if I had my way I wouldn't go but I have kids and they are super excited to see all the sights and sounds and of course ride all the rides. Lord help me...I will be broke after today.

I used to enjoy going when I was a kid. In my early 20's, it became boring for me, save for the odd concert. Overall, it tends to be lowest-common denominator entertainment, which is all right, but just not for me anymore.

Can't wait to get there tonight with the kids (6 and 4). It's definitely all about the sound and smell. Some of those rides have thrilling soundtracks that mesmerize the kids. The real lemonade is the best (double lemon and half the sugar). Plus I love the hustlers that run the "games".

Don't forget the lowest common denominator patron...today was hell. Lots of gangbangers, rude people and scumbags. I am so happy to be home.

I'm hoping no one is going to come on here and say "but but but the Calgary Stampede and Edmonton Capital X are soooooo much better", because I would unfortunately have to put them in their places and likely shatter their credibility. These "carnivals" are all the same no matter where you go, with the exact same clientel. I for one don't find them that bad at all compared to some, but that is my opinion.

Geez no kidding. Just back from there - it must have been gang-member night. I've never seen so many thugs in one place. We also noted that the average weight of the population is now around 300lbs. We passed by the Booster Juice stand a few times and noticed that NOBODY was lined up there but the lines for coke, chips and whatever were 20 deep.
