If the stops are only a block away all along the stop. taking this new rapid transit will add about 10 minutes to the already existing extremely rapid trip

Looking at the map it appears the stations will all be at least a km or more apart once the bus leaves downtown.

not exactly walking distance when the current bus stops right out the door and will be as fast as rapid transit option

Nice map. I turned my laptop sideways so it's like a book. Now North is on top again... Wink

You never lived next to one in winter when they hit the pot hole in the road infront of your house at 50 k

Clear indicator of the NIMBY factor.

I’ve lived on a transit route and can say with definite certainty that passing busses shake the foundation every time they roll by.

Is your house made of straw, or sticks? ;-)

Kind of defeats the purpose putting a Bus Line from downtown to the University if it's going to stop every block to pickup/eject passengers.

On the other hand...if I lived along that route, I'd probably be ticked...cause I'd have to walk 1km to catch a bus that passes just outside my backdoor.

Ideally though, the "direct line" will only have two stops...one downtown, and one at the University. Each one of those stops though, should have "feeder" lines coming off them to service that area. So someone could catch a bus to the "terminal", and then make a transfer for the direct bus across town.

If it works well, similar lines could be setup to provide more coverage around the city.

With the dedicated BRT lanes...it's conceivable to add LRT later, or...even better would be to add an MRT over the buses, and keep the buses running too.

The biggest problem with the transit system is it poor timing when you miss most of the transfer busses you want it, makes it hard to use
