Just trying to debate the fact that one bussiness owner might hold up the entire project unless he gets what he wants . Everyone is so worried about the link thats all , sorry but the story is there and Iam tired of the hassle of the debate .
Bruce Clement the owner of Pembina Dodge may not sell over his property for the transit Corridor . And without it the project is in trouble . To be done on time .
Sorry for being testy

Pembina is having a problem with size. They wanted to buy Rocky's houses but he sold to the car dealer on the north side of the building. If they give up that portion then they will be even worse off...

We'll just have to wait...Chrysler may be history soon anyway eh?

There's a good chance the MMT will block the line as well.

There are offers for building on that site, and the building will sit where the parking lot currently is.

Is the proposed rapid transit line supposed to run along side the rail line tracks or are they
proposing to expropriate the tracks also?
Or do I not have the correct location??

No kidding. The city's offer is probably a blessing in disuguise. He should re-consider it as an early bailout package.

But what if Bernie decides to become a Honda dealer?

It is probably a negotiating ploy but who is to say fer sure?

There's been no move to move the CN routes out of the city, so the tracks will stay, and the BRT will run along side it, probably using some of the right-of-way of the railway.

sure is going to bite for the people along the right of way that purchased thinking the train only runs once in a while it wont be so bad...

Based on that news story developers are already doing what many predicted including building higher density housing along the right-of-way. That is a bloody good thing and the right thing. Maybe even proving some of the naysayers wrong???

Why would that bite? Its just a bus going by every once in a while.... not unlike busses going down the street... And talk about convenience for getting around.

every once in a while? I suspect that buses had damn well better be running every 5 to 10 minutes if they are to improove on the current service
And how will it be convenient? To be rapid transit the stops will be few and far in between wont be many of the houses that are right against the co-oridor actually benefitting from an easier ride for them.

So maybe the stop won't be on their block, but it's still walking distance. And buses don't shake the ground like trains do. I don't think it will be the annoyance you think it will be.

considering I live next to a bus route... and they only travel 50K on that.. I personally find it very annoying

If the stops are only a block away all along the stop. taking this new rapid transit will add about 10 minutes to the already existing extremely rapid trip
