what is this life before kids you are talking about?

but seriously even before kids I rarely slept in, had little free time, the sex was fairly non existant and well the disposable income all went to booze/partying.

I have had kids in my life since I was 20 and have been working since I was 15. (younger if you include farm work)

Well I didn't have the twins till I was 35, they are only 4 so I remember the days before kids. I had no grey hair, had alot more disposable income and had alot more sex. Smile Life changed for us on March 17th 2005, that was the day we found out I was expecting. In May 2005 we found out we were having twins. I love my kids to death and am glad they are here, they have changed my life for the better.

I went from high school straight into parenthood so I am now beginning to enjoy life after grown children. Still don't have a ton of disposable income. But have lots of free time to do as we please so we do like to partake in golf in the summer, road trips for vacation and best part of all, enjoying not having to run all over h3!!'s half acre to get to a soccer game at 7PM and a hockey game at 7:30PM on the other side of the city. For me that was the most frustrating part of having kids in sports at a high level. Now I am enjoying the time I get to spend with my grand daughter and looking forward to seeing her play soccer when the time comes. And being that I had my kids so young and see some of my friends having young kids now at my age, I wouldn't change the way I did things. I enjoyed the fact that I was a young mom and can now still participate in the same sports with my kids at a decent level of competitiveness (played competitive slow pitch with my son and husband for a few years and still play womens soccer with my daughter).

My Dad spoils my kids....he is constantly bringing over ice cream, candy and chocolates...he buys them anything they could possible want. What does he care? He can sugar them up and spoil them rotten then he gets to leave.

I do so enjoy spoiling my grand daughter. But it is with things she needs, like clothes and toys for learning, books and blocks. I am not one to buy "stuff" or indulge in sweets because her mom and dad are healthy eaters (as are we) so we won't give her something that we wouldn't eat on a regular basis. Right now she (and her mom) don't really want for anything. But I do like the part of sending her home when I have had enough...........

Hey, this is about life before kids, not about life with grandkids. Stay on topic. Life Before kids Icon_smile

We were DINKS (double income, no kids) for 11 years before my daughter was born (Then add 3 more 2 1/2 years later)

LIfe before kids was.....different. There is no way I could have held the job I had with kids, too much travelling, overtime, etc.

OK, so who the hell can give this post a thumbs down. Fine, one is probably from LD, but that has more to do with the comment about less sex after children, but who else could take issue with this comment?

There was a single thumbs up and a single thumbs down on that post. But it perfectly illustrates my point.

Less sex IMO is 2-3 times per week...when you have older kids you tend to have less time, but Sputnik I am sure you are already an expert on children. LMAO
