play with hundreds of other children in a giant lake of mud at the annual Mud Day event July 7, 2009 in Westland, Michigan.The event is sponsored by the Wayne County Parks and Recreation Department and the mud hole is made with approximately 200 tons of topsoil and 20,000 gallons of water.

a number of other mud pics... damn that would have been fun to look forward to everyyear as a kid.

and millions of African children will see this and think "why are they playing in drinking water?"

20,000 gallons of water? I'm assuming "fresh" water...sure could solve some dehydration problems in the desert.

considering how much it would cost to send the water to africa from Michigan it would be cheaper to dig the africans a few wells.

yeah but I bet they cant read english so their teacher probably tells them..
