Isn't there a Department of Fisheries? A Judicial inquiry- costs $300,000,000 , but has a mandate to report back by May of 2011!
Is Harper trying to delay things until our troops are back from being killed in Afghanistan?

"Plan to probe collapse of B.C. salmon stocks"- So in 2 years they get a report and then it takes another 3 years to do something?
Does anyone work for a government agency or for the civil service, who can explain to me if this is a delay tactic?

I think we should try to understand why this was allowed to happen after we screwed up the Newfoundland cod fishery so bad.

We should have learned some major lessons in Newfoundland yet we screwed up the BC salmon fishery.

I think DFO needs to cut the allowable catch by a lot.

What was allowed? Are you saying something was allowed that we know of?
As I understand the situation Harper had hired all unemployed Conservatives to count the estimated 10 million returning fishies, ie, they were expecting 10 million, but only got 1 million. Ten million out seems pretty much what happens with government estimates, like the long gun registry costs, a.k.a. our Paul Martin Liberals- lol

Hmmmmmm I think the NF cod stock depletion had more to do with the Portuguese and Spanish ships overfishing just outside the boundaries then our own fishermen. My opinion for what its worth.

That explains it! Any one who would use blond, bimbo, models to count, must have been doing something with those models on the side! Thanks for the explananation! It always works it way back to dirty old men in politics!
