Does that outlaw garage door remote controls?
Or do you have to keep it in your mouth between your teeth and press hard on the button with your fangs?

I'm still against this whole ban thing...because:

THE LAW ALREADY EXISTS!!!

Now they're just making it more specific to steal more money from people.

LOL. Steal from people breaking the law. That is a great Idea.

I totally agree with the cellphone ban, they should have taken it a step further and banned handsfree devices too. I have seen some horrific accidents that related to cellphone use while behind the wheel. And it is definitely not the same as talking to a passenger in the car, the person on the other end of the line is not in the car with you, your level of concentration on the call will be greater then a passenger beside you.

Speaking of parked.

The other day I was at Tim Hortons on McPhillips, I get my morning coffee and head home when right in front of me this guy slams on his brakes, parks in front of 7Jokes hospital (no stopping zone) and has a cell phone conversation. As I pass this guy I can see him busily writing something down as he is talking on the phone.

Dimwit, you don't do that in the midst of morning rush hour traffic.

But it's NOT a law yet...and it SHOULDN'T be...not as they want it.

Not specifically targeting cell phones (or anything else)!!!

If you're talking on your cell phone and you cause a collision...then it's another charge to be thrown at you (careless driving)...but it should not be something where if a cop sees you on a phone, and you're driving REASONABLY...that he/she has any grounds to pull you over.

The same as if you're drinking coffee, eating your big mac, or playing with your radio.

It's NO different then any of those...so what's next? Legislation outlawing drive-thru windows?

There ARE drivers who do very well whether on the phone or not. There ARE drivers who are just STUPID whether you give them a phone...or NOT!!!

AGAIN!!!

If the government/politicians/public...REALLY wanted to improve safety...reduce collisions...save lives...they would focus on education and training and testing...NOT create yet ANOTHER USELESS LAW!!!

Just like any other new "law" that gets put in place...the odds are good there will be a "strict" enforcement for about 6 months...and then everyone will forget about it again.

So why not just have a massive campaign to enforce the laws ALREADY IN PLACE!!?

And for those of you who say that crap about "stealing from those breaking the law?" Again...it's a MONEY GRAB!!! Cause if they REALLY cared about people who break the law...there would not be car thieves killing cab drivers, or rapists who get out on their own merits because their daddy has a "name". The ONLY reason this STUPID law is being proposed...is because the only people who will actually pay fines and not fight the courts or "hide", are the other-wise law-abiding public...who just happened to have answered a call, or picked up their phone to get some last-minute directions on their way to someone's house.

After law rienforcement:
"Look both ways before you answer the cellphone..."
You know, it's actually distracting just having a conversation with whoever is riding with you. How many times have you driven past the intersection where you were supposed to turn onto another street?
With stricter rules, Dean will have to take a bus home from now on... so he can eat his remaining Big Macs without paying extra for them... Razz

heh, technically there is a "rule" about food consumptionon the bus, I doubt anyone is aware of it though, including most bus drivers.

Is it a "rule", or a busology etiquette poster?

You mean you actually have to tell people its impolite to eat in front of others. I was taught that you never ate in front of someone else unless you were willing to share. Never mind rules, how about just simple manners.

It depends... If you're kneeling down and eating dogfood out of a bowl, then yes, it might be a bit impolite... Shocked
And the little puppy dog won't like you either. Evil or Very Mad

Yeah, but it's okay in the dungeon... There, you can't cheat because you have your hands tied behind your back. Laughing

For all you ignorant people who think laws will actually make a difference...you should order these bumper stickers and advertise.

If it's all in the name of "Safety"...you won't have any problem spending the $19.99/each.

I'd make a bumber sticker ad-hoc:
"KEEP RIGHT"
Politically speaking..
"EITHER YOU'RE RIGHT, OR YOU LEFT"
Also politically speaking.

You mean you pay $19.99 each per month in the dungeon? Is cable TV included?
Does the dungeon have a drive-thru? (McDonalds, for Dean's supply of Big Macs)
