Here is the kicker. The reduce to 60 sign is about 100 feet south of the traffic light. The 60kmh sign is maybe 100 feet further south. It is at that EXACT point the van sits.
The city and the holier-than-thou set say all you have to do is follow the signage. True. But the city and the morons designing these traps could do a lot more to improve safety. For example, maybe post another reduce to 60 sigh BEFORE the traffic light. There is an awful lot going on in the area and it is far too easy to miss the sign. They could use flashing lights to ensure people actually see the signage. They could improve the slowing distance between signs.
