I don't know if that will matter. People are viewing it as liberal media and Obama attacking an average working 'Joe'. Even though he doesn't pay taxes and doesn't hold a license. He is a polarizing figure.

Joe will tighten the race. Then RACE will determine the outcome. People who might be pro-Obama will go to cast their vote and become scared and switch to McCain.

I truly wish Obama could give McCain a good trouncing, but you can see the poll numbers closing.

Where did this Joe the plumber thing come from?

McCain brought it up at the last debate. It was a good shot, too. McCain mentioned Obama met Joe at a rally. Joe wanted to buy his business, but Obama's tax proposal would end up hurting Joe if he rakes in more than $250,000/yr.

Obama's famous last words were, "we need to share the wealth." Oooh, not a good thing to say, especially in America, where the collective motto is "every man/woman/child for themselves."

Obama is being called Socialist now. There are comparisons to communist leaders.

Obama is right... time to share the wealth... meaning time for fat cats to pay their fair share. What we see in America is the result of Reagans 'trickle down' theory. It does not work!

Regardless, this Joe issue won't go away and will become a thorn in Obama's side.

if only it were that simple. Joe just happened to be at the Obama Rally Joe just happened to have been interviewed by the republicans after the rally to get more information for McCain to use during the debates.

Share what wealth? If I was a multi-millionaire...I wouldn't "share my wealth".

I'm not even a "thousandaire" and I don't want them to "share the wealth" with me!!!

I do think everyone should be paying their "fair share"...but it should be equal across the board.

One reason I support the Libertarians...they've proposed a flat-rate 15% for everyone, no exceptions, no silly loopholes, no "scaled" tax brackets...flat rate...everyone is equal income tax. If you make $100000, you pay $15k in taxes, if you make $1M, you pay $150,000 in taxes. Simple math.

Of course, I'm sure the accounting "lobby" opposes it, cause then they'd be out of a job....but Obama wants to take money from anyone who has succeeded in life, and "spread the wealth" to all those unfortunate idiots who WON'T work and earn their keep. It won't go to Joe the plumber, or any "middle-class" WORKING man, because they'll be making TOO MUCH TO QUALIFY. It will goto the lowlife degenerate, paint-sniffing, alcoholic, drug-addicted, single parent with 12 kids on crack junkie who will just throw it all away and then blame the government and everyone around them for not "supporting" them in life.

Some of what you say is true but the Libertarians won't solve it either , there is always going to be the lazy and there is always going to be the do good er stopping to help. There is always that crowd trying to stop every harm to their child in the playground .
Besides too many would lose their jobs their is an industry looking after the poor and downtrodden now.

And that's who SHOULD be looking after the scum.

That's what churches USED to do, that's what private organizations are there for. They are there to help those who ask for it or need it.

If some private group wants to help all the sniffers and give them food and shelter...fine...go get some private funding and do that. Find some other bleeding hearts and get the financial support to put up a shelter.

I don't watch "reality" shows as a rule...but I caught the tail end of one recently while waiting for a show I wanted to watch. I think it was something about Celebrity Rehab. They had this guy in rehab who was going through withdrawal. He volunteered to go to rehab, he chose to be there because he wanted to get "clean". The doctor (a celebrity himself from MTV) basically locked the guy up and told him he couldn't leave. So this junkie got to a phone and called the cops. Claimed he was being held against his will. So the cops came and arrested the doctor...put charges on him because some junkie who asked to be there to begin with couldn't deal with life.

How many times does this happen with the sniffers on the streets? Those who actually CHOOSE the drugs and alcohol over work and contributing to society? Those who put a financial drain on the taxpayer, who is wasting their time and money trying to "help" these degenerates.

Unfortunately, there's not a point where you can say "enough"...because to do that, you'd have to replace the drugs in their needle with sodium pentathol.

well .. apparently AlQaida wants McCain in.

Because he would most quickly exhaust the United States militarily and economically.

Heh heh...how could they possibly come out against a guy named Barack Hussein Obama ? Hell, they think he's one of them, and so do some Americans because of his stated positions.

its not that they actually want McCain.. but seriously if you are an American will you vote for the person that the Terrorists say they want? Or will you be silly enough to do the exact opposite and vote for the person they really want in?

or maybe.. they think the American populace are smart enough to see through their plot.

They really do support McCain, but the Americans will think they are just trying to pull a fast one on them and make them run to Obama so instead of being forced to vote for Obama they will run to McCain doing what they think is the exact opposite of what the terrorists want but in reality it is what they want.. MUHHAHAHAHAAAH...

I don't think American are smart enough to figure all that out....afterall, a guy with 4 years of experience is the main contender for the biggest job in the world....too much American Idol Psychology methinks,

Obama just announced that he wants other countries to perticipate in solutions to the American problem....that's going to go over real well with Americans eh? NOT.

This will be an interesting election to watch. Many closet racist types will open say they favour Obama, but will vote McCain. It will be closer than most think I believe, but I hope Obama can squeeze out a win.....

I understand that about <20% of their population have admitted they would not vote for a black man under any circumstances, soooo...I believe that you're right about the surprises we may see.

I don't believe that this has been taken into account by the pundits...at least, I haven't heard any discussion on the subject what will take place in the privacy of the voting booth.
