Put those metal strips in the highway like they do in Alberta that make your car sound and feel like they are falling apart if you are speeding. lol they scared the sh!t outa me the first time I hit one speeding!
They are just rumble strips and are everywhere along major highways. You feel them at no matter what speed you are travelling.
Anyways, There is no reason why the speed limit can't be 110 on the TCH east of Winnipeg up to the place where it becomes single lane. The highway is in good condition last I drove it being last summer. Man, the TCH in Alberta is 110 up to the Banff Park border, and that portion is in the Rocky Mountains. Even the Yellowhead is 110 up to where it becomes a single lane highway west of Hinton, and there are very steep slopes and river valleys right beside the highway. The portion of the TCH east of Winnipeg doesn't even begin to get significantly "rocky" and "hilly" until after traffic merges into single lane traffic.
I think the government thinks Manitoban's don't get out much, and will buy any excuse it gives them.
