I think I'll head down there later and pee in the bushes.

Did you see the drawings shown at the news conference? What I saw on the news was very impressive. It will be a very attractive place. The biggest challenge will be keeping the low life's and criminals away. Else it'll be a very nice park for low life's and criminals.

The surest way to keep the low life & scum away from the park, is to get good, honest people to actually use the park.

A group of volunteers to patrol the park would be even better...too bad we didn't bring in the Guardian Angels in...this would be a great place for them to hang out Wink.

How long before someone steals the artificial turf from the soccer pitch to re-carpet their living room?

Get rid of the ghetto housing and it could be a great area.

Yes but then the rent would go up and someone would whine they were being pushed out .

There's some really nice low-income housing there managed by Welcome Place. I'm planning my birthday party for there, instead of Assiniboine Park. I think that the only way to keep "low-lifes" out is to get more good, honest people using the area -- despite its reputation. Don't add to the cycle; break it.

Which housing is that? The housing near the International Centre?

It's along Carleton, facing the park. There's an apartment building and some row housing.

I wonder if they considered putting heating under the artificial turf? The drunks and addicts would be much more comfortable.
