Closing the borders is soooo stupid in this day and age of millions of people flying around the world everyday. Whats next putting everyone that has come into contact with anyone who went to Mexico into a large pit and killing them?

The VIRUS is no longer JUST in Mexico. Shutting boarders will do nothing. NOTHING at all.

new worst case scenario

http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20090501/sc_livescience/worstcasescenarioforfluestimated

There will be about 1,700 U.S. cases of the new H1N1 flu, aka "swine flu," in the next four weeks under a worst-case scenario, according to a research team's new simulations.

well if snow boarders are going to Mexico for their kicks... maybe we should shoot a couple of them so that they learn their lesson.

CBC Newsworld- "as swine flu spreads"... I guess the advertisement missed that Mexico has cut the estimated deaths by 1/3, ans all of Canada's cases are light! 55 flu's in Canada- Big F'N deal- How many flu cases are normal?.
" The great swine-flu scare of 1976 is remembered in the United States as a costly public-health fiasco during which more people died from vaccinations than the dreaded influenza."

Some estimates put the unofficial population at closer to 30 million....either way that city is a disaster in teh making. the pollution alone would be enough to breed any viral mutation. It's elevation makes one more prone to radiation from the sun. The soupy air that folks have to breathe.....the last time I was there I was sick within the day and that was in fall 0f 2007, a time of year when the air is cooler and there are more breezes.
I have never driven through Mexico City but a number of times I've had the displeasure of driving through Juarez Mexico in Chihuahua province. Totally disgusting, anything with 4 wheels and a motor is allowed on the road, diesels belching smoke, oilburners in front of you creating clouds. And in the midst of all this beggars running into traffic to ask for spare change or a ride. I never got a close look but what appeared to be cardboard shacks were perched on the mountainside......closer to the outskirts someones cow had died and was lying right beside the road swarming with maggots and vultures. What a breeding ground for a virus like this, from what I saw I'm not at all surprised.

Most border cities are like that and we have NAFTA to thank for that....the "colonias", squatter's villages, pop up overnight full of folks who dream of making some money in the border towns....juarez has been the scene of some horrendous murders of women....nothing has been done....no infrastructure, no hope but lots of profits made off the backs of nice country folks....I have driven into many of these colonias over the years.....however, in mexico's defence, once one is away from the border sleaze what emerges are neat little villages, larger cosmopolitan centres and rich farmland....i love mexico.

oh oh... there goes the pork industry. (seriously, you can pretty much kiss it goodbye in Canada for a few years now)

Alberta pigs have swine flu... seemed to have caught it from a farm worker who went to mexico and fell ill on his return

http://www.winnipegsun.com/news/canada/2009/05/02/9328076.html

yeah thats a pretty nasty virus that jumps back and forth between species like that...

It might come back in the fall!! OOhh I am so worried.
That is what some bimboe in a green outfit just said on TV!
36,000 is the normal deaths in a year from flu, but not this one which has taken less than 200 lives, therefore we will probably o to deathcom 6 next week!
Where do we go to get a report that makes sense?

Canada 'well positioned' if pandemic alert level raised: health officer
David Butler-Jones, Canada's chief public health officer, says Canadians shouldn't panic about swine flu. (CBC)
we haven't got one serious case that can be attributed to this flu!
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/05/04/canada-flu-jones040.html
Why don't we see a report on how many cases of flu are normal for this time of the year, even seasonally adjusted, or nationally adjusted! lol
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING!! Crappy reporting- no balance, just what we get from those commie bastards!

Yea!! Finally one death from the flu in Texas, but apparently she had "other" medical problems.
Canada's one "serious" flu person on Alberta is getting better! It almost got to really serious! Wow! 7200 stories in Canadian and American papers!
Next report is going to be on those people who are sneezing a lot!
