What alot of he proposes is really just window dressing like the making car theft a violent offence , stead of property . Won't much matter to the 14 15 yr old as they are still under the JYOA and are treated as such .
Harper if he really wanted to make a real difference he would do as has been suggested by many . Lower the age of Majority in the eyes of the law and make the act have more power. Right now the kids have the upper hand and still will under Harper's PR guided ways .
Wish we would get a politician who would run this country stead of worrying about his , but more the parties future .

Problem is, and this has been said in this space many times before, is the opposition keeps getting in the way. Did not a much tougher bill get shat upon by the opposition requiring a significant watering down?

So the Liberal Senators don't want to have the bad guys locked up! As far as I am concerned the longer the bad guys are locked up the safer our streets are. That is why in the US there are over 1,000,000 people in jail and their streets are so safe to walk in!
