I was reading the reports on the weekend in the sun about the various stabbings and assaults and figured they were probably related.. and lo and behold they were.

Wow, quite the little spree these people went on eh? At most I see them doing 5 years. And even that is doubtful.

Mr P went to Highschool with Mr. Hall, the murder victim....Mr. Hall was an accomplished artist. I lectured Mr P last night with regards to his safety on the streets being that he is a young male adult, obviously not gang-affiliated unless Winnipeg Photo Group is now a gang, and is non-aboriginal in appearance. A perfect target for these jerkoffs......WTF is going through their freakin' heads?

Meth is insidious.....I rode my bike to the Kingshead Friday evening and made damned sure that I came home before dark....I ride fast and stop for no one.....I used to enjoy walking down Main and have only had one or two incidents in twenty years of doing so.....when I read the stories over the weekend I was deeply shocked and angered.....what do I have do, carry a glock now? Become Dirty Harriet? Go ahead punk b1tch, make my mofo day!!! Guess who would get more jail time?

What's sad...is I heard the report on the radio this morning...and had this thought:

"They caught the four guys...have them in custody...KNOW they are guilty...and will get out in only a couple years. What they SHOULD do...is have someone walk into a room with all 4 of the guys...and just shoot each of them between the eyes."

On one hand...if all those stabbings were gang related...and gang-on-gang...then by all means...let them kill each other off...and then whichever gang is left on "top"....round them all up and shoot them too.

But when they venture outside the gang...that's when I no long have sympathy. That's when I hope they attack the wrong guy...and he takes them all out.

hmmm I wanted to say gangsters instead of gang members... but why does Gangsters not seem like the right word for these people?

Maybe it's a perception thing. Personally, when I think gangsters, I think of Al Capone and his boys... you know the real gangsters who would probably chew up the contemporary variety and spit 'em out.

The term "GANGBANGING" has been around since at least the early 70's - I believe it got its start in L.A. with all the bloods and crips shite....reading that book by Cupcake Brown right now and boy is it an eye-opener.

I have always maintained that Winnipeg is a city that takes a long time to catch up on trends.....

When something is proven to be a failure south of border in terms of housing, social policy etc....we still merrily plod along and do it anyways because we are Manitoba and we can do it better right?
