Yes I agree totally, however I just need to know if there were in fact contracts presented.

Check it out for yourself....

In general, a new owner must comply with the existing contractual obligations of the old owner, unless the old owner gave the tenant(s) other notice and paid them $500 for moving expenses.

Understand that a tenant does not have the right to stay for as long as they wish...they can be forced to move.

Those are residenial sgreements, and have nothing to do with a commercial lease.

You need to read your lease and then probably need the help of a lawyer to check out that lease.

Landlords have tremendous power, and you also have to know what is in your lease.

Get to a lawyer to help you, you have to protect your lease rights. Every lease is different.

My question is this, is anyone aware of whether there were contracts that current tenants were required to sign through the new management? I have been told by someone else I know who lives there that there are in fact no contractual obligations imposed on current residents, I would just like to find out if anyone else knows anything about it first hand?

Sagkeeng? You mean a Native Band took over a public appartment building in suburban Winnipeg? If that is the case, I forsee a disaster in the making.

I wonder if this announcement has anything to do with Dans question.

So, Sagkeeng is just the property manager and not the owner....the Province retains ownership.

Also, the minister noted all existing tenancies will be respected and Sagkeeng will establish a waiting list of eligible applicants for vacancies as they occur.

Well, at least now, blame for poor housing will be restricted to themselves.

I wonder if they're better at managing a multi unit residential building than they were a residential addictions treatment centre?
