The Gates on Roblin is very nice for a Sunday brunch but again can be pricey (adults $28 and kids under 12 $14 under 3 are free).

Do LOCAvores eat crazy people?

I've had lunch at the Tallest Poppy and would like to try their surprise family brunch on Sundays. $25/person
I understand they do.Miz point wrote:Does the Norwood still do their seafood brunch? That was a Winnipeg standard for years.
Miz point wrote:Yes it should....hehehe.....now as to Fusion Grill, I have heard much good about that place and if the concept of locavore is front and centre with them then that is a bonus. Hard to do though with the veg in the winter months unless they have a greenhouse.
There is a Facebook group, "Breakfast Connoisseurs", whose sole purpose is to review Winnipeg Breakfast spots. Here's their web page:anny wrote:Goth_chic wrote:One of my all time favorite brunches is still the Fort Garry Hotel. Any other decent places for brunch?

Right now I'm thinking Provence Cafe (formerly Provence Bistro) or Elements. Another option is Terrace Fifty-Five. Has anyone been to any of those for brunch? Are they any good?
I think Terrace Fifty-Five is a buffet brunch, but the other two are off-the-menu type brunches (which would be OK).
There are also Tallest Poppy and Stella's, but they're a little more casual than what I'm looking for.
Or are there any other suggestions? I fear we'll end up at dim sum (which is OK, but not what we're looking for).
It is always on a Sunday.Deank wrote:Is Mothers day on a Sunday this year?

I have a reservation at the Fort Gary for Mothers day brunch. At 10:30 AM. We have since changed plans and I have not yet cancelled.
You could use my reservation for 4.
Jondo wrote:I'll buy your HFGarry reservation if you haven't cancelled. Nowhere better than that place for the Brunch spread - however they sure do charge (I think it was $35 two years ago - probably $40 now?).
