I also had a friend who ate nothing but ramen and Kraft Dinner for the better part of a year.

He contracted scurvy.

Talking about healthy food, how many mgms of sodium in that triple cheeseburger? The sodium content is the reason I stopped eating at fast food restaurants- Seems to me that my grandpa cheeseburger, onion rings and a root beer had 57,000,000 !
Maybe that 57,000,000 was what Wpg was spending on its quick transit to get from The Bay to IKEA??

$20 for 4 at McDonalds that is cheap! I don't believe that Burger King could be 1/2 price for the same food! I would head over there for sure!

most people dont realize that eating properly is just a small part of overall health and fitness.
The major contributor to obesity is lack of physical activity. And that is pure laziness or lack of information/education about the subject, which falls into the personal choice category i guess.
you can stick to your current unhealthy diet of whatever it is you eat, and start exercising on a regular basis (which means every other day not once a month) and your health will improve dramatically within a couple months.
also, your body will start to crave different things, generally healthier things, as the tons of sugar and fat will suddenly not feel so great because your body doesnt need/want it.

We ate 4 plates of spaghetti per day, for a week, when we were in Spain in 2007 in a tournament. Each time, the ingredients changed but the spaghetti was simply spaghetti... When we got back, I didn't even touch spaghetti or any other pasta for over a month... THAT was too much...

1250 mgms of sodium in a grandpa cheeseburger- my favorit, that I haven't ordered in 3 years since I started to keep my sodium level under the 2000 mgms that unhealthy canada suggests is a daily limit.

regarding smoking ban and the Manitoba governments introduction of banning smoking in a car when there is a child in the car.
No common sense in this law! How would a policeman see a child strapped in a car seat ? Couldn't! So they pass a law that cannot be enforced because you cannot see the offensive behaviour.
Smoking kills? But it is ok to smoke as long as you pay the taxes!
If smokimg in a car is a health hazard, then it is a health hazard for adults as well, and any ban should be simply smoking in an automobile, and the smoker should get a ticket and the money sent over to Cancer research!

Totally! You need to burn more calories then you take in. I try to do 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week plus weights I do take one day off for rest! It's also important to get enough sleep, lack of sleep makes you hungry and crave sugar and salt which adds pounds. The most important thing for me is my health and of course my fitness level.

Goth-Chic - you aren't allowed to make unsubstantiated , outragious, statements like that !
That is my job!
What adds pounds is taking in more calories than burning off!
That is all that is true!

What about installing VLT's on treadmills? Kill 2 birds with one stone as they say.

Sounds great! The only way the VLT will work is if you walk briskly or jog on the treadmill. Treadmills or stationary bikes should be hooked up to TV's so if kids want to watch then they will ride or walk to watch TV.

Sounds great, but with all that stuff hooked up to the treadmill, is there enough room to attach an ashtray?

Actually, many gyms have installed their stationary bikes and treadmills to computers and tvs.
In order to keep the screen on though, you have to keep moving.

When I was a "regular" at my gym...I used to ride an extra 15 minutes, just to see the end of the program I was watching Smile).

Some of the bikes I was on, actually had "routines" you had to follow (ie. go faster or slower), and some of the treadmills went through a "cycle" where they would get faster, or raise up and down. If you broke the routine/cycle, the screen would turn off.

They should start selling those for homes...but only if they stop selling all the other TV Options. Then...anyone who wants to watch TV would have to get exercise. Would make a whole new venue for Superbowl Sundays Very Happy
